Kindergarten Bible Class: Abraham Activities

January 16, 2014 By LaVonne

This last week, we've went over the story of Abraham in our Bible class. Each day, I follow our lesson plan and read a part of the story of Abraham. When the section of the story is over, my Princess doesn't want it to end. She wants me to read the next day's portion. She really loves the story of Abraham and Sarah. We were both pleased this weekend when they had Greatest Heroes and Legends of the Bible on TBN. It was the show entitled Sodom and Gomorrah but much of the story was about … [Read more...]

10 Christmas Lights Crafts and Activities for Kids

November 18, 2013 By LaVonne

We flew home this weekend from Denver. What a great time we had in Colorado! My daughter honestly didn't want to leave. She had made such great friends while we were there. We spent Sunday with family watching football, eating great food, and decorating our first Gingerbread House of the holiday season. (You can check out the handiwork on Instagram.) I just love Christmas. Mid-November is not too early, in my opinion, to start decorating and crafting for the holiday season. I thought I'd do a … [Read more...]

This time of year life just feels so much more busier. Here in the Long house we just finished our 6th week of homeschooling Kindergarten. We are flying out of Montreal back to the States and I am so excited to be heading home. We have fun traveling, but truly there is no place like home. We are not home long before we head out to Denver, CO. This time we are staying in a one bedroom hotel suite that has an indoor pool, internet, cable TV, and free breakfast each day. We are all excited about … [Read more...]

Kindergarten Homeschool: The Lord’s Prayer Resources

September 29, 2013 By LaVonne

The last three weeks of Kindergarten homeschool we have been reciting The Lord's Prayer during Bible class. My daughter's favorite way to learn this passage of Scripture was making a Lord's Prayer mini book of her own. (Which she insists on keeping "forever" of course.) Her second favorite way to learn this Prayer is by singing the scripture songs. Scripture songs have always helped my husband and I to learn Bible verses. We love Hide 'em in Your Heart with Steve Green a lot.  More Ways to Teach … [Read more...]
