The things that come out of my preschool age daughter's mouth often make me laugh. It is quite funny to hear the thoughts of an almost 5 year old girl. She recently was acting poorly, misbehaving, being disrespectful, and basically just pushing my buttons. I was losing it. And out of nowhere she says, "Mommy, please don't put this on Facebook." Now, how can I be angry at such a cute little thing? She is learning that in this digital age I am sharing more and more things about our life. … [Read more...]
Non-Candy Stocking Stuffer Idea for Kids
We love getting free toothbrushes. Who doesn't, right? But the ones we get from our local dentist are just not "fun" like some of the ones we see on the store shelves. Don't you think a new fun toothbrush would make a great stocking stuffer? I sure do! We bring our Princess to the dentist office twice per year for a teeth cleaning. She loves going to the dentist because we started her visits at the age of 1. Good oral care is important to our family, so a new toothbrush is not a bad idea at all … [Read more...]

Road Trip to Oregon…That Didn’t Happen

We were all set - everything was placed by the front door ready for her Papa to pack in to the sport utility vehicle. She stayed the night at their house so they could get up in the morning early and leave. The plan was to leave her in her pajamas and carry her out … [Read more...]
September is Emergency Preparedness Month
Okay, I freely admit, our family is not prepared for an emergency. I want that to change. I googled, read, and pinned many things about emergency preparedness and realize that it really is not that difficult. I just need to set aside time this week and write down our emergency plan and put together an emergency kit. Do you have an emergency plan or emergency kit? Here are a few great resources I'd like to share with you: Emergency Kit Visual Ideas and How To 72 hour Emergency … [Read more...]

This has been a busy summer. Having a second child and keeping up with this blog has made life hectic. What is supposed to be a relaxing time off at home this summer has been anything but. So I blogged recently about setting blogging limits. And you know what? I feel a lot better this week now that I have a plan. FOCUS. It is easy, isn't it, to get sidetracked and focus on things that are not all that important? The life I want to live for myself and my family is not a life of busy internet … [Read more...]
