Prayer and Snow

February 13, 2009 By LaVonne

We are so excited. Yesterday, while we were praying for our lunch, Isabella folded her own hands by herself. Each day we pray a similar prayer and keep it short. Daddy and I always fold our hands and bow our heads. Isabella, loves to copy, and she did it too! Then this morning when daddy fed her breakfast she did it again. Our hearts swell with pride! It snowed about 9 inches last night. We stayed in our pajamas until 3pm, watched a movie, ate pancakes, and played. It has been a great morning for … [Read more...]

Real Agape Feast

January 31, 2009 By LaVonne

Last night we had an Agape Feast/Communion Service for the AFCOE students. Isabella actually did pretty good, plus it is always nice when the students want to help by holding her. During supper, she was practicing her agape feast skills by feeding her little baby (who does not wear clothes by mandate of Isabella). "Baby" enjoyed grapes just as much as Isabella. And when she got thirsty, Isabella, the good little mommy, was right there ready to give her a drink of her water. … [Read more...]

Baby Einstein

January 29, 2009 By LaVonne

1 More Reason My Daughter is the Real Baby Einstein: My daughter is a baby Einstein.  Really. In the morning after I change her diaper I know to expect within the next 30 minutes that she will go poo poo. I can usually smell it. So I say, "Isabella go poo poo?" and I make the sign language sign for potty. Usually, she will come up to me and turn around so I can check her diaper, or if she is feeling spunky she will start to run away. Yesterday morning she had a BIG poo poo. I laid her down … [Read more...]

I think she may be a genius people!

January 29, 2009 By LaVonne

Isabella has done some great things today, which leads me to believe she just might be a genius. Or maybe I should call this blog entry - mini me. ha ha ha.This morning before the shower, I turned some music on the iPod docking station and started flitting around the room, swan jumps, twirls and spins. Isabella really got a kick out of that, so she started doing it too. Now, she just started to spin multiple times in a row this week. So I knew she would really like to copy mommy. She can spin … [Read more...]

Tantrums and Screaming

January 27, 2009 By LaVonne

Well, we have begun the phase of screaming and tantrums. Isabella has started screaming for items that she wants, and when she does not get them she will throw her head back and cry. She has hit her head a few times now and then that makes her cry more. I don't know how to get her to stop. So this week's email from parenting.com talked about this exact thing! I was happy to see that my 13 month old is not the only one behaving this way. But it is still hard to deal with. There is an article … [Read more...]

That seems like too much blood!

January 27, 2009 By LaVonne

Well Isabella had her first "big" accident. I feel so terrible because I let her have the water bottle. She loves her daddy's water bottle. It has a straw which she loves to bite on. On Friday night he came home with an empty water bottle from vespers at Weimar Chapel. I let her have it, we always let her have it. But as she chased her daddy to the bathroom, she tripped, and the fell directly on the water bottle. The plastic straw scraped from her front teeth all the way up to that piece of … [Read more...]

Obama, Obama, Obama

January 19, 2009 By LaVonne

I was looking at the Sunday paper this morning and on the cover of the Parade Magazine insert was a picture of President Elect Obama. I showed Isabella the picture and I said, "this is president Obama, can you say Obama?" Then I continued to point at the picture saying, "Obama". So out of her mouth came "mama", which I said, "no, it is Obama", stressing the "O" sound. So she said, as clear as day, much to the delight of daddy, "Obama". My parents and sister are in D.C. today, they will get to be … [Read more...]
