I think she may be a genius people!

January 29, 2009 By LaVonne

Spread the love

Isabella has done some great things today, which leads me to believe she just might be a genius. Or maybe I should call this blog entry – mini me. ha ha ha.

This morning before the shower, I turned some music on the iPod docking station and started flitting around the room, swan jumps, twirls and spins. Isabella really got a kick out of that, so she started doing it too. Now, she just started to spin multiple times in a row this week. So I knew she would really like to copy mommy. She can spin abot 6 times in a row, which obviously makes her so dizzy she will fall. I did “ring around the rosy” for the first time with her as well. We had fun.

Then in the shower I was putting her California Baby shampoo/bodywash on her (last week we tried Johnsons but it still is breaking her out) and sudsing up her body and hair. She grabbed the bottle, tapped her hand a few times, rubbed them together and started lathering her own hair. It was so cute. Whenever she does something spectacular (at least to me it is spectacular) I say yeah, and give her a high five. I went on to give her some actual shampoo to put into her hair, which delighted her to pieces.

While we were making lunch for daddy, I tried to involve her too. I give her the garbage from our salad making. She throws it away for me. We kept that up until she started trying to dig it back out. (She has a new fascination with the garbage can now. I think we are down to 18 alphabet magnetic letters.) So I said no more garbage today. So she started making a new noise with her mouth. Her daddy and her make the noise, which sounds like a rasberry on a tummy when she does it, but an elephant when daddy does it. I said, “elephant?” and she proceeded to run to the living room. I quietly wondered what she was doing and she ran back in the kitchen holding her puzzle (Melissa & Doug animal puzzle – thanks Kelly!) piece of an elephant! She is brilliant!

I know, I know, you don’t see the genius yet. To you it may be regular childish behavior, but to me, the proudest mommy ever, she is the smartest 13 month old ever!

LaVonne be impressed, I would get giddy over my 2 1/2 year old making the connection and most likely have to call her dad at work. Thanks for stopping by my blogs. I’ve enjoyed reading a little into your lives and your love for Christ.
