We’ve Arrived!

October 30, 2009 By LaVonne

Well I spent my 31st birthday cleaning my house and driving 6 hours on our way to Washington. We arrived safely after a two day trip yesterday afternoon. What a great present though: moving to my home town, with a wonderful family of my own, in my own house! God is so good! And to top it off, my parents flew down to drive back with us. My husband and I drove in the U-Haul truck and my parents drove our car with the Princess! Who could ask for more? I dreaded the drive home (14 hours) with a … [Read more...]

Frugal Friday: Special Dinner at Home

October 10, 2009 By LaVonne

We wanted a special dinner tonight. For no reason. Just felt like it. But instead of going out for dinner, and spending way too much, we decided to make a fun dinner that we'd all enjoy. So at Trader Joes, Tyler saw something great - Pumpkin pancake mix for $2.99. Now those of you who know my husband, know he LOVES pancakes. So to kick off the fall season (it feels like fall now), we decided to have these pancakes for dinner. We also decided to let our Princess help make them. As Tyler added the … [Read more...]

Top Ten Highlights for the Week (Hey, I Needed to Catch Up)

October 7, 2009 By LaVonne

1. This last week the Princess has woken me up 3 times at night. Not with cries - but with laughter. In her sleep she is laughing now. It is funny, but I don't mind being woken up to laughter.2. I know, I have mentioned many times that I love Craigslist, but once again I found a great deal. Now that the Princess loves her dollies, I have been thinking of getting her a few doll out fits. Did you know the outfits are $10 at Target? PER OUTFIT! So of course I went on Craigslist, searched doll, and … [Read more...]

Little Mama

October 1, 2009 By LaVonne

This week my Princess really LOVES her dolls. She wants them to go on walks, in the car, in the shopping cart - everywhere she goes. I have to buckle her in the shopping cart together.Yesterday the dolly helped us with our animal puzzle a few times ('cause you know kids always want to do things over and over an over...). She carries the bigger one around in a "wrap" I made from my scarf. She even feeds them! When she wanted diapers on both of them last night I realized that I needed some more doll … [Read more...]

Word Filled Wednesday: Salt of the World

September 30, 2009 By LaVonne

This week my Princess got into the salt for the first time. She is already 21 months and never been in the salt before! Which actually surprises me since we use salt daily. I have just been good about keeping it in the cupboard. It was left out on the table and while I was washing dishes she quietly climbed on the chair and proceeded to pour the salt into her hand and lick it. When I turned around I saw the licking part. I grabbed a paper towel to wash her hand off and while throwing that away … [Read more...]

Is That Poop? Part III

September 29, 2009 By LaVonne

Okay, 0kay, this is the last post in the, "Is That Poop?" trilogy. I won't gross you out any longer. Do you see what my life has become though? Days filled with poop. This morning was no exception. As I saw the Princess at the end of the hallway semi-squatting and pushing I knew she was going poop. So I yelled, "Wait! Let's go to the bathroom." So she ran into our bathroom and started to pull her pajama pants down. I checked the back of her diaper and seeing no poop yet, I quickly helped her … [Read more...]

Is That Poop Part II

September 29, 2009 By LaVonne

You think summer is over and then it gets up to 100 degrees again this weekend!I long for fall weather - turning leaves, wet smells, sweaters, jeans, and shoes with socks. I love fall.So to beat the heat we filled up the small pool on the deck and let the Princess play. My great husband got in the pool with her to give me a much needed break. He played for about 30 minutes when he yelled at me to come.Once the water around them began getting cloudy he started to get suspicious but when the … [Read more...]
