No!

February 9, 2010 By LaVonne

When will the yelling of the word "NO" end? I am just not sure. It has become a game for the Princess and not a fun one for mommy. Most of the time I try to ignore it and reason that if I pay too much attention to it she will want to keep doing it.A lot of the time I think I might be going crazy. At church, her and a three year old boy love yelling "NO" in each other's faces. It is so loud and crazy it is almost funny, almost. Indoor Voice? I that a viable concept for children? What and the … [Read more...]

Top Ten Tuesday: All From Feb. 1

February 2, 2010 By LaVonne

Here is my top ten Isabella moments from just today:1. Every morning, including this morning, when my Princess wakes up, squishing me into the smallest portion of the bed possible, she smiles and gives me big kisses. EVERY. MORNING. I am so blessed.2. "Excuse You" is her phrase lately. It means "you move". It is quite rude, but also cute. Today she even picked up a piece of paper that was in her way and told it "excuse you".3. "Eggie" is our word for egg. She loves scrambled eggs. Tonight as she … [Read more...]

Care to Share? Or Copy?

January 30, 2010 By LaVonne

Two nights at the seminar, and I am convinced that my Princess does not know how to share. I was happy to hear from two other parents that said this is fine and normal. Their children didn't share until they were 4 or 5. So that was good news to this tired mommy. I mean how many times must I repeat myself?Today, while we finished our grocery shopping, the Princess, out of the blue, started copying daddy's quirks. Quirk #1: he always has to play with his glasses. He lifts his eyebrow or uses his … [Read more...]

Got Golf?

January 23, 2010 By LaVonne

What an enjoyable day it has been. I am blessed, I know it. Not only did we watch Surf's Up, play at a great local park, and eat an amazing lunch, we took our Princess to our community golf course for the first time. And she loved it! We loved it too. She is only two and learning how to play golf with her very own real Barbie golf clubs. Step aside Tiger, Bella is coming up! … [Read more...]

Co-Sleeping with a Fish

January 22, 2010 By LaVonne

So our Princess has been sleeping in our bed since she was born. In many ways we have enjoyed the closeness that comes along with sleeping together as a family. But lately...She flops like a fish!I mean, really flops around. I slept terrible last night. Finally at about 5 am I said to her in a clear voice, "Please snuggle daddy." She listened. When we got up this morning, daddy said, "I had no room this morning." (He didn't know I made her sleep next him.) He had to hold on to the bed frame to … [Read more...]

The Week is Ending, Here is a Quick Update

January 16, 2010 By LaVonne

I am happy that all our rooms inside our new house are painted. I love my husband, who literally painted 95% of the house. I did help him prep the walls and took the Princess away during the painting time. Our home is beautiful and he really has become a professional painter. I need to upload more photos soon.Today, we scored on sales. Target started their 75% off toy sale. We spent a little under $100 but got LOTS of presents for birthdays and Christmas this year. Then, Old Navy started their … [Read more...]

Things I Love Thursday: Nighty Night

January 15, 2010 By LaVonne

I am so happy. After two years of being the parent who puts their child to sleep, my wonderful husband has been putting my daughter to bed since she has been weaned. Can you believe that two weeks have gone by since I have last breast fed her? It amazes me still. The only time she cried was the first night. She still asks for it every day but after I tell her no, she does not keep asking. I thought it would be more difficult. I guess not. Hmmm...So now, I can be the one to stay up as late as I … [Read more...]
