I am happy that all our rooms inside our new house are painted. I love my husband, who literally painted 95% of the house. I did help him prep the walls and took the Princess away during the painting time. Our home is beautiful and he really has become a professional painter. I need to upload more photos soon.
Today, we scored on sales. Target started their 75% off toy sale. We spent a little under $100 but got LOTS of presents for birthdays and Christmas this year. Then, Old Navy started their additional 50% off the clearance tag sale. Every Thursday there are also various coupons you can print from their website. We scored an additional 25% off coupon. We walked out of Old Navy with two bags full of 3T and 4T clothing, snowsuit, boots, sandals, hat and gloves for under $50! I love getting good deals! We are so blessed.
I hate watching the news, don’t you? Is it ever good anymore? Despite my feelings about it, I could not stop watching the coverage of Haiti today. After crying a few times, I got online and made a donation to ADRA , I wish I could do more. My heart breaks for the children, the families, those still dying in the rubble and on the streets. I must trust God, rely on Him and keep praying. What a time to be living!
The Princess LOVES a new toy she got from the Grandparents. It is a cash register. It has money, a till, a credit card, a scanner and of course the number buttons. She grabs anything and everything lying around the house and scans it so she can “buy” it. It is so cute but I must admit that the scanner is too loud. Why do kids toys have to be so annoyingly loud? Is there a conspiracy to drive parents crazy?
Another toy she loves and is getting good at is her Melissa & Doug color puzzle. I am still amazed at how well she matches the colors. She knows them all. Perfectly. She also plays with a Parents Animal Hospital (which was $3 at a garage sale). It has 6 kennels with different color doors. The keys match the doors and only the red key will open the red door and so on. She knows those all too. She is brilliant! I don’t know where she gets it from? Hmm….
We have been faithfully doing the Princess’ Sabbath School Lesson each evening before bed. We love it just as much as she does. This month of January has been on Creation. It is a little long but she wants to go through the whole week each night. After that is finished she then wants to read her new Tiny Bear Bible that we got from church as a Christmas present. Her favorite story that she ne-enacts through out the day? When Jesus stops the storm while He and the disciples are on the boat. It is so cute to see her put both hands up and say “No!” in a loud voice. I love her new found interest in books especially Christian ones.
Oh, and how many times can I watch the same episode of Auto B Good (Christian Cars like movie) before I go absolutely crazy? I don’t know but I will soon tell you. (Who knows, maybe I am already there and just don’t know it.)
