Say No to Pretend Christianity

Say No to Pretend Christianity

We were talking about the Rich Young Rule in Matthew 19 at church recently which had me thinking about following Christ, obedience, full surrender, and pretend Christianity. Matthew 19:16-22 The Rich and the Kingdom of God 16 Just then a man came up to Jesus and asked, “Teacher, what good thing must I do to get eternal life?” 17 “Why do you ask me about what is good?” Jesus replied. “There is only One who is good. If you want to enter life, keep the commandments.” 18 “Which ones?” he … [Read more...]

Living is messy, isn’t it?

Living is messy, isn't it?

Having a family, young children, and an active life - well, living is messy, isn't it? Now that I'm homeschooling 1st grade, parenting a toddler, doing my best to cook healthy meals, being a soccer mom - not only is life busy but the home gets messy. It can't be helped. Of course, it can be cleaned but it will just get messy again and again. But that's okay with me.  I'll do the dishes, pick up the toys, and bathe kids daily and know that my life is full. Happy. Are you thankful for your happy … [Read more...]

5 Costume Ideas That Can Be Used Year Round

It's that time of year again: the leaves are falling and the shops are filling up with all sorts of costumes to celebrate Halloween. However, just because Halloween's just around the corner doesn't mean that you have to make a purchase with the holiday in mind. Whether you have a love for the dramatic flair or are thinking ahead to themed birthday parties; now is a great time to stock up on costumes from sites like Funidelia to wear throughout the year. My daughter puts on a play dress … [Read more...]

Potty Training? You Need to Check This Out

Potty Training? You Need to Check This Out

This is a sponsored post for Pull-Ups. I received samples for this review and a promotional item to thank me for participating. So my Little Man is 28 months old and we are potty training. We still have a ways to go, but he is doing good. If I stay consistent each day with this, he does quite well. Plus, he is starting to tell me when we are out and about when he has to go. That is a big plus. Potty training is a hard job isn't it? Maybe some kids have an easy time with it, but it has … [Read more...]

Homeschool Co-op: Her First Friday

Two weeks ago my Princess started Friday School at our Homeschool Co-op. What is a homeschool co-op you ask? Each Friday for eight weeks this fall we get together with 100+ families and learn together. Parents are the teachers, class helpers, the set up and clean up crew. The kids get to take the classes - three 1-hour classes each Friday morning after we have chapel together. We will also be having holiday parties and field trips together. My Princes is taking Kids Crafts, Cupcake … [Read more...]

Mexican Dinner Night Made Easy

Mexican Dinner Night Made Easy

We are currently on vacation with my parents and sister in Hawaii without my hubby. And I miss him. Like crazy. We are away from him for nine days. Before we left, we decided to have a dinner party all together. I like to keep things simple so I did an easy Mexican dinner for the family. Everyone loves Mexican in our family, so I made a take on enchiladas - Mexican Lasagna. I just layered the ingredients - enchilada sauce, corn tortillas, refried beans, cheese, a little more enchilada … [Read more...]

10 Things You Should Do When Your Baby is Sleeping

10 Things You Should Be Doing When Your Baby is Sleeping

I have two kids. Neither of them slept well on their own the first two years of their life. I made the choice to breastfeed them to sleep and they never could just fall asleep on their own. We co-slept as well so their sleep habits were started from day one. Here's what our equation looked like Mommy + Breastmilk = Sleep. Some days it was great. Most days it was difficult. But it went by pretty fast and I don't regret it. I'm crazy like that. You know how they say, "Moms nap when your baby … [Read more...]
