This is the Elmo Toy your kids will love!

October 15, 2015 By LaVonne

We played and learned as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars and Playskool. My husband and I are selective about what our kids can watch on television. As I've mentioned in the past, we got rid of our cable and stream a lot of television shows, especially for the kids. But, we do catch some channels on our TV. One television station that we are thankful to catch is our local PBS. The kids can both enjoy some great kid-friendly entertainment that is also educational - including Sesame … [Read more...]

When She’s Ready for Her Own Tween Bedroom

October 14, 2015 By LaVonne

She is almost 8. Yet, it feels like she is 8 going on 14. I am almost positive I wasn't so mature at her age. I was happily playing with My Little Pony, Barbie, and Care Bears. But, it's a different time I suppose. Though she still loves her Barbies and Calico Critters - she is starting to show interest in tween things like books, television shows, music, fashion and beauty. Her childhood is going by so quickly. I am not ready for her to grow up so fast. But she loves being a big girl and … [Read more...]

World Pasta Month: Easy Vegetarian Pasta Ideas

October 8, 2015 By LaVonne

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Buca di Beppo® for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine. This last weekend, to my absolute delight, my husband and I left our kids with my parents and stayed the night in a hotel. Not only did we get a entire night and almost two days away from home but we walked around a mall, visited a book store, ate dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, and visited a local church service. All without the kids. It was so un-stressful and easy. I felt … [Read more...]

October 6, 2015 By LaVonne

Do you ever feel as if your home is buried? Not under dirt and rock of course, but under clutter. If so, don’t feel too badly. You would be surprised at the number of homes that have clutter hiding (or maybe not even hiding). The biggest way to get out from under all of your clutter is to start small. Big, grandiose gestures typically only lead to a bigger mess. An awesome place to start is by tossing out things that are usually right on top of the mess. 31 Things you can Toss Today for a … [Read more...]

Family Date Night at the Circus!

October 2, 2015 By LaVonne

We had a great family date night last night at the Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Presents Built To Amaze! show in Everett, Washington at the Xfinity Arena. What I love about this circus show is that an hour before the show begins, guests can go to the floor for an interactive all-access pre-show. Audience members can pick up dance moves, learn circus tricks, try on costumes, walk the tight rope, and so much more! It is a fun part of the family date night experience. My husband … [Read more...]

5 Ways to Add Fruits and Vegetables to Your Child’s Lunch

September 30, 2015 By LaVonne

Hello, my name is Jennifer Glockner. I'm a registered dietitian nutritionist and creator of the Smartee Plate series. I'm so excited to be guest posting here today and discuss how to entice kids to eat more fruits and vegetables in their school lunches. Recent studies show that kids may add fruits and vegetables to their school lunch trays but not necessarily consume them. The key is to not just pack fruits and veggies but find ways to encourage kids to actually eat them. I believe that … [Read more...]
