I love shopping. Really, I do. But I also love to find ways to save while shopping. I consistently look on deal websites, Facebook and Twitter updates, and follow deal bloggers so I can get my family quality items and put away nice things for Christmas and birthday presents. These hard working people do all the work for me. It is wonderful! I could never find the deals on my own without their help. Do you do this too? Which blogs do you especially find helpful? I also keep a gift bin -- a … [Read more...]
Back to School Shopping Plan
Is it hard to believe that it is August already? The back to school season is here and we are all inundated with Back to School sales. The commercials on television, the internet, and radio all tell us where we should shop and how much we will save. The weekly store circulars are showing great deals and cute buys that we cannot pass up. (I mean when things are 1 penny or ten cents how do we pass it up?) Though we are simply doing homeschool PreK this year we still love to stock … [Read more...]
Eco-Friendly Shopping: Reusable Produce Bags
We buy a lot of produce in our household. We are 90% vegetarian and the meat we do eat is fish. We don't buy it in the grocery store though, we eat fresh Alaskan salmon caught locally. Printable Preschool Shopping List
My Princess’ new favorite is making a shopping list. She constantly asks us to write up a list for her to copy. She loves writing letters now and trying to figure out what letter a word begins with. Most days, I really do think she is brilliant! Truly. I am realizing she doesn’t like to sit and do Preschool at a set time each day. I have my plan, and worksheets printed out, but she doesn’t seem interested. She likes to “graze” throughout the day on her school work. I need to provide her with a … [Read more...]
Toddler Tennis Shoes
I don’t think I have mentioned that we call our Princess’ tennis shoes Baby Jaguars. She loves Go, Diego, Go from Nickelodeon. Baby Jaguar is his “sidekick”. We started calling her tennis shoes Baby Jaguars before she turned two, I am sure. She calls them that too, of course. I am not sure she has ever said the term “tennis shoes”. If she is wearing her church shoes, tearing around the church halls {as she often is}, we say, “Be careful, you are not wearing your baby jaguars and you might … [Read more...]
Lost and Found: Parenting at the Grocery Store
Shopping at Wal-mart with Isabella can be miserable at times. Well, who I am kidding, it is miserable each time. When we finish and are checking out, I like to bring Isabella to an open lane (there is always open lanes there even when the lines are hugely long). Daddy gives the checker my 30+ coupons and makes sure they all scan, and I let Isabella get into things. On the lane they put things right within her reach that she loves - Disney Princess cell phones, Cars cameras, and Buzz Lightyear … [Read more...]
Safeway and Isabella Are Not Friends
So, we keep going grocery shopping with Isbabella. I don't know why. Do we love misery? Do we want to torture ourselves? Our princess hates to sit in the cart, and screams for everything on the shelf. I give her random things to play with, which she gets tired of and throws on the ground. I feel like everyone is looking at us, which they probably are not. After a while Tyler my wonderful husband decides to just take her and go play next door at Ross. I then hurry as fast as I can … [Read more...]
