New Family Game Night Ideas from Ravensburger Games

June 8, 2020 By LaVonne

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine alone. We have a pretty full game closet here at the Long House. But, we are ALWAYS looking for new games to play together at the dining room table. When Ravensburger offered to send some new games to us to try out, that was an easy yes. Our family likes games that are easy to figure out, that don't require long hours of play, and of course that are fun. Ravensburger games have definitely pleased our family. Educational Games for Kids (that they’ll enjoy)

April 24, 2020 By LaVonne

We are in our fifth week at home doing school. Isabella is independent, learning with her class via Google Meet and Google Classroom. She's able to get her work done on her own. I am thankful -- I don't know if I remember any 6th grade school work. Nate is in second grade. He has packets of worksheets, Zoom calls, YouTube videos to watch, Epic Books to read online and then we supplement his Bible and PE. Schooling with a second grade boy is NOT easy. So when Thinkfun reached out to me to try … [Read more...]

My husband and I don't like when the power goes out -- we have to get the loud generator attached to the fridge/freezer, so our food stays good. Our kids think it is so fun -- they love getting out flashlights and candles. So I decided to share a list of fun activities for kids during a power outage. 10 Ideas for Kids During a Power … [Read more...]

Have Your Kids Played These Six Bicycle Games?

October 4, 2019 By LaVonne

The following games require little more than kids, bicycles, and a large driveway or empty parking lot. An adult or older child who can stand lookout for cars (and solve any disputes) is an ideal addition. Look for a safe spot and then gather a group of kids and a few other supplies to set up these different riding challenges. Small toys can be handed out as prizes or a player can simply earn bragging rights as best cyclist in the neighborhood. Six Bicycle Games to Play Slow Speed … [Read more...]

Kids Playground Games

September 13, 2019 By LaVonne

There are lots of games kids can play outdoors when they are given a flat paved surface. Kids' parents or even their grandparents may remember playing some of these activities when they were younger. None of these outdoor games for kids require much equipment – they only need a jump rope and a small bouncing ball. Kids Playground Games Jump Rope Jingles Although there are many popular jump rope jingles that get passed from kid-to-kid at the playground or schoolyard, kids can also … [Read more...]
