Unplug for Mom on #SocialBlackout Day!

May 9, 2013 By LaVonne

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for MetLife. I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating. What is your family doing for Mother's Day?  Our family is starting our celebration early with a four generation ladies tea on Friday. I am quite excited. Then on Sunday we are going to have brunch. We are still debating if we will go to a local restaurant favorite or if we will have the men make us a vegan breakfast burrito bar. Hmm... … [Read more...]

All About Her – My Princess

March 29, 2013 By LaVonne

My daughter and I went on mommy daughter date last week and had a great time. I bought a new dress. She ate orange sherbet for the first time and loved it. It is hard to believe how fast time is going by. This is what it will always be like. A blink. And she'll be gone. Grown up. It is so bittersweet. My Princess She loves to dance in the aisle during song service. She steals the iPhone to watch Kung Fu Panda way too loudly during prayer. She is independent and stubborn. She has no idea … [Read more...]

Will These Kids Always Get Sick?

Will These Kids Always Get Sick?

We are in the third month of the year and so far, each month has resulted in the kids being sick. It is making me wonder - will these kids of mine always get sick so easily? Is dealing with sickness the norm for most families? We travel so much and expose them to so many germs that I wonder if we are a bit at fault. Maybe I should be making sure they eat healthier, sanitize more, and wash hands religiously? We are having a great seminar in Arkansas this month. We opened with about 140 people … [Read more...]

Baby Update: 7 Months Old!

January 18, 2013 By LaVonne

It has been too long since I posted a baby update. My Little Man is now 7 months old. I cannot believe how fast time is flying by. It is so crazy. I love this age, don't you? My Little Man is now using so many letter sounds, trying so hard to "talk". I swear there are times when he is saying 'Daddy' and 'Bella'. It is so cute. My parents and grandfather all think that he really is talking. Grandparents are fun like that, aren't they? This month he is mastering grabbing his food, even the … [Read more...]

Peppermint Sugar Cookie Kisses Recipe

January 7, 2013 By LaVonne

I know Christmas is over, but we had such a great time this holiday season baking cookies. Family Christmas traditions are important and baking sugar cookies has been ours for quite some time. A sugar cookie kiss is always such a hit with family and friends of all ages. This year, we decided to make a bit extra and share them with our church family. I am a big proponent right now at this stage in our life to make semi-homemade things. So I purchased the sugar cookies ready to bake. It is … [Read more...]
