My husband had to work on Sunday for most of the day, so my Princess and I took advantage of that time and had a Girl's Day. We started our day with nails! Thanks to Grandma, my Princess had $5 to spend for Valentine's Day. She bought a set of Strawberry Shortcake nail polish and lip gloss. So I painted each toe a different color. Having fun colored nails was so exciting for my Princess. She is getting to that age, where she is really getting into "girly" things. (Unfortunately, the pool later … [Read more...]
Do You Like Tomatoes?
This week I reviewed the CopyKids Eat Fruits and Vegetables DVD, and my daughter watched other children eating tomatoes. This really had an effect on her. We made bean burritos for lunch this week, and while I was cutting up tomatoes, my Princess asked to eat a piece plain! Now, she loves pico de gallo salsa that is chock full of tomatoes. She also likes tomatoes on her Subway sandwiches and veggie burgers, but she has never eaten a tomato alone. I gave her a small piece and she LOVED it! In … [Read more...]
The Birth Center
Part Two of Natural Childbirth - our birthing story. After waking up in the early morning hours and realizing that yes, I was in labor, I was excited. That morning as I lounged in pajamas, I ate some curried vegetables with rice (leftovers) and walked around the house. My husband and I meticulously recorded each contraction. As they got closer together and more painful, I secretly wondered if I could do this naturally or not. At 1pm when the contractions were regularly coming 2 minutes … [Read more...]
Singing Career
This week my Princess has made a big decision: She wants to be a singer when she grows up. She is certain of it. And now she is making up songs left and right about anything and singing quite loudly. The funny thing is she is on key pretty often. Maybe my mom is right - I should put her in singing lessons. Daddy told her he'd like her to be a doctor or dentist. She said no, she wants to be a singer. When he said that she could be both, she still emphatically said no, just a singer. In the … [Read more...]

We have incorporated lower case letters, letter sounds, and simple math into our school work now. Here is what our typical pre-K homeschool morning looks like: a short Bible story and prayer Scripture song - … [Read more...]

It’s A Boy!
I am so excited to share this post with you. I had feeling when I get pregnant the first month I tried, that it was a boy. And sure enough I was right! We are having a boy! When I was laying there, and the ultrasound tech told me, tears came to my eyes. My parents were there with us and they got teary eyed too. (We all were hoping for a baby boy.) We are only having two children, and I really hoped that I would have one of each. God is so good. Plus, I was worried about … [Read more...]
