Make Your Own Turkey Vegetable Plate! Perfect for a Fall Appetizer!

October 29, 2016 By LaVonne

My kids are big VeggieTales fans. They watch and re-watch all the VeggieTales in the House episodes on Netflix. Seriously, I am so glad that this show is on Netflix. It truly is entertainment I can trust my kids to watch. In honor of the 4th season of VeggieTales in the House, I printed some great activity sheets (link below) for the kids and made a fun Turkey Vegetable Plate. I bought the vegetable plate at my local Costco and just arranged it to look like a Turkey, somewhat. You could … [Read more...]

Top Holiday Fashion Picks for Kids from Gymboree

October 25, 2016 By LaVonne

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post with Gymboree. All opinions are mine alone. It's hard to believe that we are getting close to the holiday season. October is almost over and holiday shopping has already begun in our home. In fact, we are almost done buying all their Christmas presents! That's a great feeling. The only thing we have left is the kids' gift from Santa Claus. I'll wait to see what they put on their Santa wish list this year before I buy that one. We're also thinking … [Read more...]

Get UP Faith & Family: Faith-Friendly Family Entertainment

October 24, 2016 By LaVonne

This is a sponsored post with UP Faith & Family. All opinions are mine alone. This month, we've talked with Isabella twice about why we don't watch certain stations and television shows. She understands as well as an 8 year old can, but she admittedly feels left out when the kids in school talk about their favorite shows. I can relate to her struggle. I went through the exact issue when I was a girl. As a Christian mom, I know it can be difficult to find entertainment and … [Read more...]

What is your calling as a parent? In the midst of folding laundry, coordinating carpool schedules, and breaking up fights, many parents get lost. Instead, he presents us with a big-picture view of God’s plan for us as … [Read more...]

Christmas Tradition: New Christmas Ornament Each Year

October 21, 2016 By LaVonne

My four year old son is in love with Batman. Period. He has a Batman rain coat, Halloween costume, Bat Cave toy, and the Batmobile. Now this year, as our Christmas tradition continues - a new Batman Christmas ornament for the Christmas tree. Obviously, he has not seen the movie Batman V Superman but he's definitely heard of it from kids at school. He pretends to play it at recess with the other kids and comes home playing it with his toys. He is drawn to Batman and Superman and superheroes in … [Read more...]

Pumpkin Pie Popsicles Recipe with Cinnamon Chips!

October 17, 2016 By LaVonne

pumpkin pie popsicles

It's well into Fall season here in Western Washington, and of course we are seeing pumpkin flavored everything. I've mentioned before that my for my daughter's birthday (which is in the fall) we always buy her a pumpkin pie instead of a birthday cake. It's her favorite dessert. So I thought it'd be very appropriate to make her pumpkin pie popsicles. She loves making homemade pops and often will put apple juice in our popsicle molds just to have a frozen treat. Do you love pumpkin … [Read more...]
