My daughter is loving her new school. She has made, in her words, "BFFs", and she can't wait for school each day. One BFF, in particular, has been asking her to plan a play date. It is often rainy and cold this time of year in Western Washington so the best place to have a play date in this county, in my opinion is Chuck E. Cheese's. We've been to our local Chuck E. Cheese's many times. We even had my Princess' sixth birthday party there. We keep a small stash of Chuck E. Cheese's tokens … [Read more...]
Pound Puppies Party Ideas
My daughter is now in first grade and I ask her every day how her school day was. She is still at the age where she loves to give me all the details and honestly, I love hearing those details. I know all her friends by name, just not by face, and I know the animals they pretend to be at recess. Her closest friends pretend to be a cat and bunny every time they play. But my Princess loves to pretend to be a dog. She LOVES dogs. When I was a girl there was a toy that I loved, I am sure you all … [Read more...]
When Did You Begin Music Lessons with Your Child?
My Princess has had ballet lessons, tennis lessons and swimming lessons. She wants to take gymnastics at some point. But, we all agree in our family that she should take music lessons. That is really on our family to-do list within the next month. We are thinking piano lessons. When did you being music lessons with your child? A lot of children learn how to play at least one musical instrument while they are in school. I think in my Princess' new school all kids learn to play the recorder … [Read more...]
40 Date Night Ideas (Date Your Spouse!)
My husband and I live about 1.5 miles away from my parents. Thankfully, once a week or once every two weeks, my parents take our kids so my hubby and I can have a date. We like to eat out (sans kids is so divine!), visit a local bookstore, or watch a movie when we do date night. But, in writing up this post, I realize that I'd like to do even more for our bi-monthly date nights. 40 Date Night Ideas Bookstore Go Karts Arcade Games Make a meal together Movie Bowling Volunteer at a local shelter … [Read more...]
What age is good for a first pet?
Two months ago, on a football Sunday, a cat came over to visit. We hadn't seen the cat before. We could tell she was a pet and not wild. She wanted to come inside the house so badly. The kids went out and played with her for hours. She was so patient with both of my children. They even brought her some salmon to eat (from our lunch menu) and a dish of water to drink. They were in love. That led my Princess to a question that I've heard countless times in her young life. "When can I get a … [Read more...]
Men’s Fashion Trend: A Stylish Watch
I mentioned before that my husband got a new job in October. He is pretty busy and therefore we decided to put our Princess in private school so I can focus more easily on parenting a quite unruly toddler boy. My husband wears a lot of suits, suit separates, sweaters, and ties now in this job, so I love looking at men's fashion trends. A new trend for this winter, besides a corduroy suit and great backpack is a stylish watch. Men's Fashion Trend: A Stylish Watch by lavonnelong I found … [Read more...]
Kids Learn to Share (With an App!)
I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for Captain McFinn. I received a complimentary subscription to facilitate my review as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation. Last month, we had a lovely visit with Grandma Diane. She came for four days from California with her sister, Aunt Betty. The kids were so happy to have attention and love bestowed on them from relatives they don't see as often as we'd like. One thing that Grandma … [Read more...]
