Getting Ready for Disney World: Disney Fashion

October 22, 2015 By LaVonne

It's hard to believe that the end of October is soon upon us. This Fall is flying by and we've been having great weather here in Western Washington. It's been pretty mild so far. As we get closer to the Thanksgiving break we are getting antsy about our travel to Florida. We'll get to spend a week in the Florida Keys and three days at Disney World. I am not sure who is more excited: me or my kids? I am already imagining the outfits I'd like to wear at Disney. Do you or the kids dress up when … [Read more...]

27 Mouthwatering Potato Recipes

October 20, 2015 By LaVonne

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Marie Callender's. The opinions and text are all mine. My love affair with potatoes began when I was very young. Living four doors down to my grandparents on our reservation, I spent more time there than at home. They ate potatoes every single day. My grandpa still does, I am sure. When I think about my childhood, and growing up on our reservation, home feels comfortable and smells like boiled or fried potatoes. I still get that … [Read more...]

New Christian Sci-Fi Show for Kids (even parents will love)

October 19, 2015 By LaVonne

I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but I am a bit of a sci-fi fan. Science Fiction books, movies, and television shows are appealing to me. So when I found out that their was a new kids's show, Galaxy Buck: Mission to Sector 9 coming out this month - I was pretty excited to get an early access preview of it. But, the fact that this new Christian sci-fi show is from VeggieTales® and What's in the Bible? creator Phil Vischer made it a must-see for our family. We are HUGE VeggieTales … [Read more...]

Why You Should Shop Consignment Sales

October 16, 2015 By LaVonne

This morning, I enjoyed early access to our local Just Between Friends (JBF) Mt. Vernon/Marysville consignment sale. First, I love JBF and their ability to bring quality used products to families at a great price. I've been shopping at JBF consignment sales since my daughter was born and they've never disappointed.  This morning was no exception. Here is what I bought this morning at my local Mt. Vernon Just Between Friends Consignment sale: OshKosh B'gosh Special Occasion Dress $25 … [Read more...]

Meaningful Travel and Connection with Family

October 16, 2015 By LaVonne

This is a sponsored post with Womens Forum and Fiber One. All opinions are mine. We went to the Welk Resort in Southern California for my husband’s annual family again this summer. Hot days, bright sunshine and a cool pool – makes for a great family vacation, don’t you think? My kids look forward to Welk all year long because they get to play with all their cousins at the pool and on the grass behind our rooms until the sun goes down. Every night, they are so exhausted from playing so … [Read more...]

This is the Elmo Toy your kids will love!

October 15, 2015 By LaVonne

We played and learned as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars and Playskool. My husband and I are selective about what our kids can watch on television. As I've mentioned in the past, we got rid of our cable and stream a lot of television shows, especially for the kids. But, we do catch some channels on our TV. One television station that we are thankful to catch is our local PBS. The kids can both enjoy some great kid-friendly entertainment that is also educational - including Sesame … [Read more...]
