Rewarding Myself For a Job Well Done

February 21, 2014 By LaVonne

Spread the love

I have been doing great on this healthy journey. Not perfect, but honestly great. The past couple weeks have been a journey of self-reflection on why I am overeating (stress mainly and to feel joy secondary) but it has also been a re-start on habits that I had previously done. Good habits.

#lovehealthyme

I love Weight Watchers. I have blogged about my journey with Weight Watchers many times. I love it because it is simple and I get to eat the foods I like. But more than that, it teaches me to eat exactly the amount I need and no more. But, it gives me wiggle room every week to splurge. And you all should know by now, I love food, and I love to splurge.

Moderation is the key!

This past week I started the Weight Watchers Simple Start program and I couldn’t be happier. ‘Cause honestly, I don’t get to go to the gym as often as I like but when I commit to eating healthy and stay generally active my pants just fit better. Really. This morning I looked down at my tummy (post-two kids) and it was almost flat. Do you know how happy that makes me? I don’t own a scale. I don’t want one. I judge my weight based on the fit of my clothing. My goal? Getting back into my skinny jeans. I am only one size away now, and I know I can get there. It really is just one day at a time.

So how am I rewarding myself after a great week of staying on track?

Meet my friend, bite sized caramels!

#lovehealthyme

At only 3 Weight Watchers plus points these are so good and just the right amount of chocolate and caramel to satisfy my big sweet tooth.

What do you do to reward yourself after a job well done?

#lovehealthyme

If you haven’t rewarded yourself lately here are twenty great ideas:

  1. Watch a Movie
  2. Bubble Bath
  3. Go to the Beach
  4. Spend the Day with a Friend or Family Member
  5. Get a Massage
  6. Buy New Shoes
  7. Get a Mani-Pedi
  8. Attend a Concert
  9. Buy a New Workout Outfit
  10. Take a Nap
  11. Buy a New Music Album
  12. Visit a Museum
  13. Go Swimming
  14. Dinner at a Nice Restaurant
  15. Buy New Makeup
  16. Buy a New Book
  17. Get a Haircut
  18. Get a Drink at Starbucks
  19. Buy New Perfume
  20. Get a Spray Tan

Disclosure: I was given a free one-month subscription to try the new Simple Start plan and write about my experience. Though I was compensated for my time and commitment, all views, positive and negative are my own.

Those are all great rewards to use! Much better than just food rewards.

I love the food rewards of course, but a massage would be nice right about now.

Great post and way to go on deciding to live a healthier lifestyle! I’m all about rewarding oneself! Mine often take the format of a new book!

I actually did get a new book too. I am hooked on my Kindle iPhone app. It is so easy to read while waiting places or in bed!

Great rewards! I think #16 is calling my name. At least if I am stuck at home in the rain I can escape for a few minutes a day into a good book.

Struggling in the food moderation department at this time!

Congrats and that list of reward ideas is great. I almost didn’t get to it though because I was stuck on Weight Watcher Caramels. Candy diet treats are something I must try.

They are real candy treats. Not diet at all. Just a smaller portion for those of us (like me, ahem!) that can eat an entire large candy bar and then some…

I like the balance of taking steps to be healthy along for rewarding yourself for your efforts! Moderation + rewards sounds like you have a recipe for success.

Thanks Jen. Sticking with it is key. I can do this! 🙂
