Weight Watchers Plus Points Snacks I Love

January 31, 2013 By LaVonne

Spread the love

apple slices

So I have been slowly plugging along with Weight Watchers. Since June I am down 15 lbs and kind of stayed there. The holidays kicked my behind a bit… well more than a bit. I ended up gaining 5 lbs! So I have 15 lbs to go on this journey. Truly, this is not a diet but a lifestyle change.

It is no secret that I have ย a sweet tooth. ย I love sweet things. Who am I kidding, I just love food. So apple slices with cinnamon and splenda is my new favorite go to snack. It is sweet, satisfying, healthy – and you guessed it: 0 points plus. That is a big win!

It is important as a busy mom on the go to pack snacks. It is healthier and more frugal to pack snacks for your kids and for you. So this is a favorite of mine now and even my 5 year old loves it.

Two other snacks that I love to pack are:

Peeled Mandarin Oranges

weight watchers snacks

Two mandarin oranges make a great snack option. I like to peel them ahead of time and put them into a baggie. That way, I can eat them on the run pretty easily. Also 0 points plus!

One other snack option that I like to pack is a banana:

Contained in its own “wrapper” a banana is a great 0 point snack to pack. Healthy, filling and tasty!

Have you baked the apples with cinnamon yet? At trader joe’s they have this cinnamon & sugar grinder that is amazing sprinkled over apples and then baked. YUM! Paired with some greek yogurt and it hits the spot for dessert.

Thanks Danielle. I will have to try that. I eat greek yogurt almost every morning. The two together sound divine. ๐Ÿ™‚

Great ideas for snacks. I’m doing nutrisystem and when I dont feel satisfied, I always go for fruit.

These are yummy options. When I did weight watchers, I sometimes ate a whole can of Allen’s green beans as a snack.

Great idea, Angela. I do like canned green beans and canned asparagus. Which is weird since most people think it is disgusting. It must be the salt ๐Ÿ™‚

I love apples and bananas too. Yummy! Also, I like carrots and sugar snap peas and I also like to buy those vegie bags (with broccoli, cauliflower and carrots already cut up and prepared). You pay a bit more but they’re ready to go. My favorite snack is probably unbuttered popcorn. It’s a lot healthier that way.

I like to purchase already prepared veggies and fruit at times too. It is more expensive but I am more apt to eat them that way. I am a BIG popcorn fanatic. I eat it at least 4x per week. I get a light butter though and sprinkle with nutritional yeast flakes. Favorite snack of all time!
