Each summer, my family of four flies down to Southern California for a must anticipated event: my husband’s family reunion. His generous parents have timeshare points they let all four kids, and their families, use for a week at the timeshare near San Diego. The grounds are beautiful, the pools magnificent, the golf course is pristine, and the activities are top-notch. Both of my kids look forward to it every year. It really is a nice vacation for the whole family and a great way to see family we don’t see all year long.

I have an uncle who bought a time share four years ago. He told my parents and I that we could use anytime we wanted. You want to know why? He and his wife never use it. Literally. Never. They are paying for it each year and don’t take advantage of it.

One unfortunate day in the future, my in-laws will pass and they’ll leave the timeshare points to the four children. Though my hubby and I love the time spent at the timeshare in California, we will most likely sell the timeshare.
