Remember, when I told you guys that we keep the Sabbath in our home? Well, one of my readers mentioned her family does too. Not only that she had a special container of things that her kids could only have on Sabbath. I LOVED that idea, so I copied it. This is why I love blogging, you know. I love the interaction with other women out there dealing with my same issues!
How to Make a Special Bin:
- Buy a fun bin. We got a $5 bin with dark pink lid that would be large enough to fill.
- Head to your nearest Christian store and/or the local arts and crafts store and stock up on things you know your child will love. Thank the Lord for the Family Christian Store and Michael’s.
- Only let your child open it during that special day each week. We even let her bring 1 or 2 items to church with us to keep her occupied. (Church is not always easy if I don’t bring her things to do!)
Buying the things was worth it. We want her to be excited for this special day for God and family. And she LOVES it. She asks all week if it is Sabbath yet. And then when the day is over we sing a goodbye song to the bin. It is very cute.
