So I have this super crafty neighbor. She makes great things - awesome crafty things. She recently started making beautiful felt flowers. I LOVE them. The cool thing about felt? It is cheap. And with so many felt flower tutorials out there, I know I can do this craft. I just need to bust out my hot glue gun. Remember my felt barrette [the one above}? Well, that was not so cute. I would like to try and make some of these beauties:     … [Read more...]

Santa Claus Kids Crafts Ideas

December 1, 2011 By LaVonne

We had to go to our local mall this week. While playing at the playground inside the mall, guess who walked by? Yes, Santa Clause. He stopped to say hello to my Princess and give her a hug and a candy cane. She was overjoyed. Last year she was terrified of Santa Claus. This year she hugged him, and excitedly said, "He is real!" It was so cute. So now, my Princess believes in Santa Claus, officially. I didn't think it would be so much fun to have a child believe in Santa Claus. As a … [Read more...]

Bottle Cap Magnet Tutorial

July 18, 2011 By LaVonne

I was feeling like I wanted to do something "crafty". With one hour of free time, I decided to make some Bottle Cap Magnets. {Shhh, don't tell anyone but I still need to buy the magnets!} My toddler even helped put all the 1 inch photo circles in the bottle caps for me. Here is what they look like: I saved candy bar wrappers for possible crafts, and punch 4 of those too! I love to re-purpose pretty garbage. Materials: 1. Bottle Caps. A couple years ago, I ordered 100 silver … [Read more...]

Dollar Store Crafts

May 20, 2011 By LaVonne

We love this local store here in Canada called Dollarama. For quite cheap, we can find fun crafts for our Princess. This week, she picked out two wooden pieces to paint—a tray and a desktop organizer. They were only $1.25 CND each! We already had some paint, so this was a cheap week for craft time. This week for homeschool we are working on her letters that she has a harder time recognizing. She has about 6 letters she needs to work on. We are also working in a summer bridge book between … [Read more...]
