This week in Kindergarten Homeschool we are learning to memorize Psalm 100 in Bible class. We are doing the A Beka program this year with the Princess and she is loving it. So am I, actually. Everything is so well done and written out for me. I don't have to wonder what I am doing at all. Psalm 100 {A psalm. For giving grateful praise.} 1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. 2 Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. 3 Know that the Lord is God. A Valentines Day Gift For My Husband
This Valentine's Day I think I gave my husband the perfect gift of love. It is a gift I knew he would want - practical and deeply necessary. The Modern Life Study Bible: God's Word For Our World from Thomas Nelson is honestly the best Valentines Day gift for my husband. ABOUT THE MODERN LIFE STUDY BIBLE Using historical context and fresh insights backed by biblical scholars, The Modern Life Study Bible explores the timeless truths that connect the people and stories of the Bible to the … [Read more...]
Pain and Suffering? Where is God?
Who among us has not wondered where is God during the pain and suffering in our lives? I know that when my sister-in-law found out she had brain cancer, I wondered - "Why, God?". Or, when my other sister-in-law died too young from heart failure. I again asked God, "Why?" It is hard going through the trials in life, living a Christian walk, and then feeling like God is not with you. But He is friends, and this is exactly why Unstoppable is the a great DVD for all of us to watch. I think … [Read more...]
When Things Are Out of My Control
The winter weather really affected our seminar attendance with the local church here in Baton Rouge. Attendance hasn't been as high as it was a week ago. Or as high as it normally is. It is frustrating. You can't control it but you want people to meet Jesus and have a life changing experience. That's a noble desire, right? My children are driving me crazy. My son's hitting had become almost non-existent (praise The Lord!) but now he is screaming - a lot! Screaming is in my top five things … [Read more...]
What is Your Favorite Bible Character?
Do you have a favorite Bible character? I have a hard time narrowing it down. My daughter loves the story of Abraham, since that was what we learned about the last few weeks in Bible class. But her favorite character keeps changing. I have always loved the Bible stories of Moses, Daniel, and Joseph. "Seasons of Gray: A Modern Day Joseph Story" tells the beloved biblical tale of Joseph in a relevant and modern way. This film released on DVD Jan. 28, 2014. About Seasons of Gray The … [Read more...]
Kindergarten Bible Class: Abraham Activities
This last week, we've went over the story of Abraham in our Bible class. Each day, I follow our lesson plan and read a part of the story of Abraham. When the section of the story is over, my Princess doesn't want it to end. She wants me to read the next day's portion. She really loves the story of Abraham and Sarah. We were both pleased this weekend when they had Greatest Heroes and Legends of the Bible on TBN. It was the show entitled Sodom and Gomorrah but much of the story was about … [Read more...]
Trials and Tribulations: Bible Verses to Help
We've had a rough week. The trials and tribulations this week just felt overwhelming. Do you have weeks like that? Negative things never end it seems. You wonder, can anything else happen? That was my week this past week. Can I vent a bit on here? This week, we had problems with Straight Talk cell phone service. My husband's phone has been shut off for four days now. We are doing everything we can to get it back up. There is no communication at ST and their customer service is seriously … [Read more...]
