Did you know a recent Gallup poll showed that 72% of Americans believe in Angels? My kids are fascinated by the topic of angels. This Christmas break we've talked about angels and even made an angel ribbon craft together. So, I thought it might be helpful to share resources to teach kids about angels. Kids can learn about angels by the things we share with them, through angel crafts and activities and with great Bible verses. Below you'll find a great round-up of all things angels! CSB She Reads Truth Bible for Women
I was given this Bible to review for B&H Publishing by FrontGate Media. While I was given the Bible for free all thoughts and opinions are my own. I love a Bible that I can just sit in my comfy chair and read. When it's easy to understand and beautiful -- well that just makes Bible reading so much more enjoyable. Getting into God's word and falling in love with the stories and especially Jesus Christ is essential to Christian growth. I am excited to have a new Bible in my home -- the … [Read more...]
God’s Big Plans for Me Storybook Bible
Our family loves having new books to read for family worship. This Storybook Bible from Rick Warren is a great addition to our Bible library. I love that this book is written for kids but has been inpsired by Warren's book The Purpose Driven Life. My husband and I loved that book! These stories help children understand their own purpose in the world and that God has a plan for them. A great big plan! Each of the 40 stories begins with a great introduction, has beautiful illustrations, and … [Read more...]
Bible Crafts to Teach Kids About the Bible
I recreated these Bible crafts from a Pinterest pin. (I have a Children's Ministry board on Pinterest, if you'd like to follow me). Lynn Hicken at Randomness blog came up with this back in 2014 and the kids in my Adventurer Club absolutely loved making these candy Bibles. She has even shared the page of Bible verses to make my job as a Children's ministry teacher so much easier. Inspirational Bible Verses to Share with those Affected By Cancer
This month my husband's aunt Betty died of complications due to liver cancer. By the time she found out she had liver cancer, it was stage 4. We were shocked by how quickly we lost her to cancer. She was also a survivor of polio and breast cancer. She was successful in work life, a kind aunt, and strong woman. We lost her too soon. I hate cancer. I've lost too many people in my family and my husband's family to this dreadful disease. I am thankful that I know the Lord, that I understand this … [Read more...]
Children’s Ministry: The Lords Prayer Bible Craft Bracelet
This week I taught a lesson on Disciples at our twice a month Adventurer Club. I have about 30 kids in grades 1-4 that I teach two Tuesdays per month. The Disciples lesson also covers The Lord's Prayer. With 30 kids, I like to have a variety of options for teaching. I prefer to set up three tables (or stations) and divide the kids evenly. We finished our Disciples Lapbook at one table. The second table featured a simple handprint prayer craft (above). This handprint craft teaches kids how to … [Read more...]
