31 Great Outdoor Activities for Kids!

Backyard Pool

We’ve been spending quite a bit of time outdoors this summer. First, we have been having amazing weather here. But second, my husband and I have been really committed to less television and more outdoor play for the kids. Yes, they love their Netflix shows, but making time for outdoor play is so healthy for them. I honestly don’t want to hear about being bored. Most of their outdoor play, since it has been so hot here in Western Washington, has consisted of being in the pool.

Backyard Pool Play

We have a great community pool that has been warmed up to 84 degrees but my kids love going to their Papa and Nana’s house backyard pool. It’s been hot enough that the hose filled pool has been a welcome relief. But most importantly they get to play in the pool with the cousins. Hearing them play, get along, and run around to warm up, and laugh is so great!

OH all such fun ideas! One we have not done yet is the Sandcastles! Oh thanks for the reminder….we will have to head to the beach! We have not tried the Clif Bars or fruit rope….they really look good! I think Carter would love those and I love how healthy they are! I have to look for those next time I go to the store!

They are so tasty, Laura. The kids cousins hadn’t tried them either and they devoured them. Both boxes I brought over were gone within ten minutes. So happy for tasty and organic treats – we are BIG Clif Kid fans and luckily our Costco sells them in bulk!

These are really good ideas! It is important to remain active and enjoy fun activities with your family. I can see that swimming is at the top of your list. The summer is still here, so take advantage of swimming pools while you can.
