10 Reasons I Love the Chevrolet Suburban #SuburbanMom

I had a busy week last week! Last Sunday, we got back home after spending over a week in the 5th wheel RV for hubby’s work. We had to unload the RV, wash clothes, clean up the RV, and then get it ready for storage. We also had warm weather so the kids wanted to go to the community pool. My Princess and I still have 20 days left of Homeschool Kindergarten (yes, we are going year round!) On top of that, we had to get ready for an awesome 4th of July celebration. And lastly? We needed to get ready for our trip to Southern California. This week we are taking a family vacation. No work related travel, or blog related travel at all – just fun family time!

Is your life super busy too?

chevrolet suburban

Praise the Lord, we had the amazing 2015 Chevrolet Suburban to drive around last week! Honestly, I didn’t want to give it back. It was the perfect vehicle for all the trips we had to make to the city. {We live in a rural county and our small town doesn’t have much more than a little grocery store so most of our errands, appointments and shopping is done about 25 minutes away.}

10 Reasons I Love the Chevrolet Suburban

My husband and I both really loved driving around this awesome family friendly SUV. I am sure his top ten might be different than mine. But from a mom’s perspective, these are my top 10 reasons for loving the Suburban.

  1. Cargo Space – you can seat up to 9 (on LS models) and the seating is roomy and so comfortable.
  2. Keyless Entry and Push Start Button – no more keys! This feature is just plain cool.
  3. Air Conditioned and Heated Seats – this time of year with errands, appointments and more it is nice to get into a car and cool your seats down. My behind was quite happy. (In the Suburban LTZ models.)
  4. Smooth Ride – I have not owned a vehicle that has rode as smooth as this 2015 Suburban. It is smooth and quiet on all types of roads in my county. We commented on this many times.
  5. Storage – with two kids, lots of electronics, and just stuff – having adequate storage is important. The center console alone is large enough to fit a laptop people!  There is hidden storage under the floor, adequate door storage, a 15 cup holders!
  6. Chevrolet MyLink – an 8 inch color screen that you can touch and rearrange includes navigation, weather, Pandora and more. You can sync up to 10 devices via Bluetooth technology as well!
  7. Charging Locations – you will find 12 charging locations including USB ports and a standard 110 volt 3-prong outlet.
  8. Blu-ray DVD Player – my kids loved this feature the most. Honestly, as a busy  mom to two kids this feature was so appreciated. The kids didn’t scream, yell, fight, or cry in the car all week. They were too busy watching their favorite movies!
  9. Parking Assist – this car helps you front park and back up . With a camera, sensors, and radar – navigating this SUV is made simple with this awesome feature.
  10. Lane Departure Warning – if you go over the lines in the Chevrolet Suburban your sit will vibrate! How cool is this? This feature saved me a few times this week when I got distracted.

Oh, and I can’t fail to mention that on the 4th of July at 4:45 pm it started to rain as we were driving to a potluck BBQ. And do you know what happened? The wipers turned on all by themselves. This very smart, very perfect vehicle sensed the rain on the windshield and started the wipers for us. WOW! This Suburban truly is ready for anything!

my most memorable day I have had with my teen daughter was a bus ride down from New Jersey to Florida (we are both afraid of flying). What was a sad trip to go say goodbye to Florida grandpa (my dad was dying) the 24 hour trip down was a truly bonding experience. We reconnected and formed a stronger bond. It may not sound like the best time ever to some due to circumstances but it truly was for our already strong relationship!

When my daughter was born, She was in the NICU for over a week. I ended up being diagnosed with a rare pregnancy related condition, called PPCM and was in heart failure as a result. I was told I might not make it through the night. I looked up at the ceiling and knew that four floors above me, my daughter was waiting. I knew they were wrong, and I would make it! My most bittersweet memory is bringing my daughter home to meet the boys, after being released from the hospital earlier that morning, myself. Seeing their faces helped me to know it was time to fight!

My most memorable day was when I just had just brought my daughter home, and my son was done with her crying and taking up all his mommy time, and asked me to put her back in my belly.

One night the power went out for hours, and as a family we sat around the kitchen table, lit candles and played board games all night long. In a world where television and social media take precedence over human interaction, it was a truley lovely night where we all ignores the outside world and were just a family
