Who doesn’t love saving money in the kitchen? I know I love saving money any way I can. I have three simple ways I save in the kitchen. These are actual things I am currently doing. The great thing? They are all very easy ways to save too.
Kitchen Savings Tip 1
So, I tried to cut costs by buying very cheap non-branded trash bags. You know what? They didn’t work. At all. In fact, they ripped! So my first, very important tip is use Hefty. Hefty Ultra Strong to be exact. The price is still very affordable (you can find them at Walmart and Target). And great news: they’ve lowered the price!
The scent; I love when my garbage bags have a great scent. Arm & Hammer odor neutralizers and new, invigorating scents to help keep odors at bay. Plus, a scent-free option! Hefty trash bags have the best scent…Garbage isn’t such a terrible chore when you have Hefty Ultra Strong.
But, the best feature of Hefty Ultra Strong? Of course, its durability. We stuff a lot of things in our trash bags – Hefty holds up every time. In fact, Hefty has active tear resistant technology for better puncture resistance!
Kitchen Savings Tip 2
Meal planning helps save money in the kitchen. Since I’ve been doing Weight Watchers the last two months, I’ve been meal planning more than usual. But I could do it even more for my family’s meals. You buy what you need, shop the sales, and eat less when you have a great meal plan. Do you like meal planning? Here’s a free printable meal planner that you can use. Most times, I plan only the dinner meal when I am meal planning.
Kitchen Savings Tip 3
Instead of using your heated dryer on the dish washer, air dry the dishes. You’ll save money on your energy bill and reduce your carbon footprint. You could reduce your dishwasher’s energy use by 15% by doing this!
Bonus Tip: Make sure they are completely air dried before putting away to reduce bacteria growth. Also, drying with a cloth or towel can spread germs. We leave our dishes in the dishwasher, open it to air dry, then put them away when dried.
Here’s a freebie kitchen saving tip: use Ibotta coupons! In fact, you can save on Hefty with the Ibotta App. $1 cash back with the purchase of Hefty. I love using my iPhone to save even more money. I bring it in every store and open all my apps to try and save moolah!
