We’ve been staying in our RV for almost two weeks. I knew we wouldn’t have television cable and I also knew to expect slow internet – so we brought the kids a variety of things to keep them busy in their down time. My daughter brought her iPad, new books, and some dolls. My son, of course, brought an obscene amount of cars and trucks to play with. In addition to his toys, I brought him something educational: the Teach My Preschooler Kit. If you remember, we loved our experience with Teach My when my daughter was a baby, so I knew that we’d love the Preschooler kit. What I wasn’t sure about, is whether he’d love it. Guess, what? He LOVES it!
With my first child I started preschool with her the September before she turned three. We were traveling on the road for my husband’s job; we didn’t know people very well in the cities we were visiting. We just decided to do preschool together. She loved it – knew her ABCs, numbers, colors, and shapes really well by the time she was three. We have pretty much done no school whatsoever with our son. It’s funny how the second child gets less rules, less worries, less photos, less things, and less education. Please tell me I am not the only one who does this with the second child. I am starting to feel a bit guilty about it. So honestly, the Teach My Preschooler kit just came at the right time for my somewhat ignored son.
Because he has an older sister, he knew his ABCs, colors, shapes and numbers earlier than she did, even with all my years of homeschool preschool with her. I should clarify a bit, he knows how to say his ABCs and count to almost 20. But, know with the Teach My Preschooler Kit we can introduce his letters and numbers and how to read and write. This kit is still a bit advanced for him; he just turned three, but we’ve adapted the materials for his age and he LOVES it. We practice letters and shapes on his eraser board. He makes trains with the numbers 1-10. We match foam letters with printed numbers in the book. Plus, I read the easy readers with him.
He wants to do “school” all the time now.
I caught him matching his foams numbers and making number trains on his own one morning here in the RV – it was the cutest! This is the kind of educational product that I love – one that my son goes back to dad after day and enjoys learning with. The Teach My Preschooler kit is so well made with great quality materials that are nicely organized by subject. The portability of this kit is what I love too – I can bring it from house to RV so easily.
The Teach My learning kits are now available at 2000 Walmart stores across the country. You can find them in the educational toy aisle. They are reasonably priced too. One other reason to love these kits: they are from a woman owned company. By supporting Teach My you are supporting Women Owned – come on, how can you not support other women and other moms by not getting one for the baby, toddler or preschooler in your life.
