Focus Films and The Boxtrolls are working with Imagination Foundation* to sponsor a Boxtrolls Cardboard Challenge! Kids can create and build cardboard crafts inspired by the movie – just like the Boxtrolls themselves do. In addition to this cardboard contest encouraging kids to create their own crafts out of cardboard boxes for a chance to win prizes, there will also be events hosted across the country. Participants can attend and win “What’s in the Box?”– themed packages at hosted Boxtrolls events.

The Boxtrolls Carboard Challenge
Create your own crafts out of cardboard for your chance to win! The Boxtrolls Cardboard Challenge is accepting entries from September 2nd and September 29th. All entries received by the contest end date will be judged based on ingenuity, resourcefulness, and creativity. Participants sharing their creations via Twitter or Instagram by tagging them with the hashtag #TheBoxtrollsCC are eligible to enter for the Grand Prize: one (1) Grand Prize winner will be picked on September 29th all eligible and receive an “Imagination Box” for Creative Play, including an Apple iMac, an iPad Air, Microsoft Office, The Print Shop and Kid Pix softwares, a $500 DiscoveryStore.com gift card, and a $1000 Michaels Arts & Crafts gift card. About The Boxtrolls
From the creators of Coraline and Paranorman, The Boxtrolls introduces movie audiences to a new breed of family – a community of quirky, mischievous creatures who have lovingly raised an orphaned human boy named Eggs in the amazing cavernous home they’ve built beneath the streets of Cheesebridge. When the town’s villain comes up with a plot to get rid of The Boxtrolls, Eggs decides to venture above ground, “into the light,” where he meets and teams up with the fabulously feisty Winnifred. What is a Boxtroll?
Boxtrolls take the identity of the box they are made out of. {Eggs is called Eggs because his box has a picture of an egg carton on it.} Boxtrolls are builders and tinkers. They take junk and repurpose it to make new usable objects. Boxtrolls might not be “pretty” but they are magical in their own way and their creativity is certainly not to be ignored!

There’s not an event near me, but I’ll tell my daughter who’s in Mpls and she can tell the families she works with! What a fun event!
