Shedding that Winter Weight

Spread the love

We joined the local YMCA in Gig Harbor. I love it. My husband loves it. When we bring the kids they love the pool. It is fun and exercising is easy with such a nice new facility. But, my son won’t go to the child care. We tried three times. He hates it and cries the entire time. That makes it difficult to work out and attend classes. Not impossible but very, very difficult. I want to keep shedding that winter weight. {Actually, I weighed in this last week and I haven’t gained any weight since December. But, I haven’t lost any either. I need to lose 25 lbs still!}

I tried Zumba for the first time and enjoyed it. I also tried Pilates there and had a hard time! Who knew Pilates could be that hard? So this last week, instead of going to classes I swam laps for exercise. My husband had the kids in the little pool and we switched and then he swam laps. It worked last week. But, I am still hoping to attend classes and burn even more calories. Exercising with small kids is hard isn’t it?

I am glad that I haven’t gained weight since December. I have been trying to watch portions and keeping track of my food choices, eating real food, and asking God for help to overcome the temptation of filling my body to de-stress. But, what I am still lacking is a consistent exercise routine. I honestly could use a health coach to keep me on track. If I had someone who helped me with a plan just for me and encouraged me a long the way, I could more easily succeed.

    I love Zumba and pilates. It is hard for me to find actual classes that I like.

      I love classes. I wish I could more often. Today at the park I decided to just walk a mile instead. It is just easier to keep the Little Man in his stroller!

    I’m not in Canada. I’ve heard that Zumba is a lot of fun. It’s a shame your little one won’t stay in day care. I’m sure it is challenging to try and work out if he is with you.

      It is so challenging. I am hoping it is just a phase and he will pass it soon! I want to work out.

    I keep yo-yo’ing with my weight. I’ll lose some and gain it right back – so frustrating. Working out with kids is really hard :/

      I am dreaming of the day when they are both in school and I can work out at least an hour a day….
