Back in 2004, before we had children, my husband and visited Orlando. We went to Magic Kingdom together and had a great time. I’d love to take my kids now! Orlando is one of the premier vacation destinations in America and has many great attractions for those that visit. The cost of a trip can mount up although there are plenty of simple ideas for saving money. The following are a few tips to consider.
Hotels
Choosing to stay for more than a day in the city means booking accommodation. Being situated in a tourist-friendly city, hotels in Orlando are within close proximity to premier tourist attractions like theme parks, museums, and art galleries, among others. The internet is a way to find hotel costs within your budget and using one of the many price comparison sites should help to find an affordable deal. These can include hundreds of hotels in a search and enable customers to choose the one that suits them best. Also check to see if a hotel offers free shuttle bus services to surrounding attractions and kids eat free deals as these can help to cut costs.
Coupons
Coupon books are commonly available in locations such as hotels, rest stops, and gas stations. There are also websites where it is possible to print out coupons. These can offer savings on the cost of visiting restaurants, theme parks, and other attractions. This makes it worth having a look to check if there are coupons for any of the places you plan to see while in Orlando.
Free Attractions
There are some Orlando attractions that can be enjoyed for free and including a few of these in an itinerary is a way to reduce the cost of a vacation. Parents with younger kids can visit the Lego Imagination Center for free fun with these colorful bricks. Some museums and art galleries offer free admission at certain times and it can be worth planning a visit when this is the case. Two to consider are the Winter Park History Museum and the Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art. Disney’s Boardwalk comes alive in the evening with street musicians and entertainers, and these can be watched for free.
The many attractions of Orlando make it a destination that anyone can enjoy and some forethought and planning will go a long way to making a trip affordable. The ideas above are some options to consider for saving money in the city. Take them into account and you should be able to arrange a vacation at a price you can afford.

We loved Disney when we went in 2010. We learned to eat breakfast at McDonalds just before the park opened. This allowed us to eat lunch at the park and if it was a short day it saved us a ton of money. Park food is fairly expensive, one advantage to staying on site, you can probably go back to your room for meals.
We also bought our tickets online way ahead of time so that we could get the best deal possible.
