Family Fun Day: Monster Jam

This weekend we went to Monster Jam at the Tacoma Dome. We hadn’t ever been to a Monster Jam show before so we weren’t sure what to expect. We should have done a bit of research. My #1 tip for the Monster Jam show:

Bring earplugs or headphones for all members of your family!

It is very loud. I mean loud, people. My Little Man would not wear the ear plugs that we got for free from the paramedics on site. When we went out to the vendors to purchase headphones for $20 – he wouldn’t keep those on either. So, I had to take him out of the show. I was bummed about that. Now, I know. I will be bringing him back to the show again when he is old enough to leave his headphones on.

The show started with the National Anthem, and since we are learning that song in Kindergarten Homeschool, it was pretty cool for my Princess to hear it sang live by a young girl.

My Princess on the other hand, loved the show. She kept in her ear plugs and watched in awe as the trucks jumped, the racers raced, and the motocross bikes flipped. I think we took this pic of her above when a truck by the name of Grave Digger came out. She thought it sounded “scary”.

Her favorite truck was Monster Mutt Dalmation. This truck had a female driver. It was also the only truck to crash and leak oil (as sort of seen above). That of course was a big highlight for my Princess.

We also brought my sister with us and she even enjoyed it. So this really is an affordable family fun day. We highly recommend it. Just bring your ear plugs!

This looks like so much fun. I know they are having this at the Dallas Cowboys stadium later this month (i think). I bet my boys would enjoy it but my youngest probably wouldn’t go for the ear plugs either.

It was pretty cool, Christy. The older boys would definitely love it. We’ll go back maybe when my Little Man is 3.

We’ve done the Monster Jam before too, it’s fun. 🙂 Your pics are awesome.

Thanks, Rosey. We only had our cell phones for this show and it was difficult to get good photos. But we had fun!

I should have realized it would be loud. I wasn’t prepared at all for the loud or the cold stadium. I will be better prepared next time.
