Do you need a vacation? I do. I really do. We are actually taking a few trips this summer. But I would honestly love a vacation with just my husband.
When you think about a vacation destination you don’t often think about Missouri, but I want to share with you what fun you can have when you Visit Missouri.
Do you like the great outdoors? Missouri has 51 state parks! A float trip is another great idea. Don’t know what a Float Trip is? Google it! You can also hike, hunt, fish, zipline, caving and scuba diving? Scuba, did I say? Well, yes, Lake of the Ozarks has more miles of shoreline than the state of California!
What I liked a lot about Missouri when I visited was the city of Branson. Fun for the whole family – Branson has live theater, lakes, golf, an outlet mall, and of course an amazing amusement park.
Do you like big city life? Well, Missouri can offer that with St. Louis and Kansas City. Hotels, museums, restaurants, and of course you must visit the Gateway Arch in St. Louis. What is very awesome is when tourist activities are FREE. You can visit the St. Louis Zoo, St. Louis Science Center, Grants Farm and City Garden all for free!
If my husband and I could take a 3 night trip to Missouri this summer alone, no kids, here is what I’d love to do:
We’d stay at The Lake of the Ozarks state park. I’d rent a boat and play at the lake every day and just relax in ths sunshine! With more than 15 golf courses in this area, I know my husband would want to golf at least one morning. An outlet mall is nearby and that is where I’d be one morning for sure. I love having a little me time with retail therapy. You can also find go carts, miniature golf, and disc golf – all activities that my husband and I love. We’d easily find things to keep us busy for 3 nights. Now, if only my 1 year old would let us go…

I didn’t realize Missouri had so many places to go and see!! Maybe you can get one of the grandparents to babysit for a long weekend so you can get away alone with your husband. Of course your baby will be thoroughly spoiled once you return–but that is what grandparents are for!!

That would be lovely! I think we’ll wait until he turns two. Next Summer! And I can’t wait. 🙂

Missouri has never been on my radar of places to visit but the pic you posted makes me definitely want to visit! I’m totally going to check this out. Thank you 🙂

Right? It is in the country, affordable, and beautiful. A great option. There are lots of family friendly places to see too. I just didn’t highlight them.

There are tons of states that I’d like to spend more time in and Missouri is one of them. You touched on so many great things to do. I might have to ask my parents for a big babysitting favour!

I didn’t even realize there was so much to do in Missouri until I read more about it. Now when we are traveling I can’t wait to see more!

I’ve been to Branson, MO and to Big Cedar Lodge which is nearby. Loved it. We would love to go back someday.

I have been to Branson but not Big Cedar Lodge. That sounds like a great place too!

I really do need a vacation right now! I have been to the Gateway Arch but it was several years ago. I would love to take my son there.

My in-laws are from Missouri and it really is a great place to visit. St. Louis has a very small, town feel considering it’s a big city.

Missouri is definitely on my short list. I hope to get there soon!

Looks like a great place to visit. My grandparents went to Branson not too long ago, and they always talk about going back!

I’ve never been to Missouri but already have a long list of “must see’s” when we visit the state.
