Opposites Attract: Bink & Gollie DVD

Thank you NewKideo for sponsoring today’s post.
bink & gollie

My daughter loves her friends. She is at the age where she can be friends with anyone. Really. I love that. Where ever we travel – and we travel to a lot of great new places – she makes new friends. When we are home in Washington, all she can talk about are her friends. She even has imaginary friends. She is a social little girl.

This week her cousin learned to ride his bike. Now that is all he wants to do. He doesn’t want to swing on her swing set anymore. He just wants to ride bikes. I told her about compromise. Now, she really wants him to compromise.

bink and gollie

I love DVDs for her that are educational, clean, fun, and teach great social skills like compromise. Bink & Gollie from Scholastic is one of those DVDs that I am happy to own.

About Bink & Gollie

This new DVD in the SCHOLASTIC STORYBOOK TREASURES™ collection is perfect for kids as they wind down the school year, get ready for camp and look forward to spending the summertime with friends. BINK & GOLLIE… AND MORE STORIES ABOUT FRIENDSHIP is an all-new compilation headlined by “Bink & Gollie”, from Kate DiCamillo, the Newbery Medal-winning author of Because of Winn Dixie and The Tale of Despereaux and Alison McGhee.

A story of two very different girls who are the best of friends, Bink and Gollie don’t agree on anything, but they learn ways to keep their friendship going strong. The original story for early readers, illustrated by Tony Fucile, won the Theodore Geisel Award, and a new book in the series “Bink & Gollie: Best Friends Forever” is available from Candlewick Press this spring.

Three other stories about friendship are also included:

  • A Sick Day for Amos Mcgee – Amos receives unexpected guests from the zoo when he’s home with the sniffles and sneezes.
  • The Other Side – A friendship develops between two kids from opposite sides of a segregated town.
  • Cat and Canary – Cat’s unlikely friend Canary shows him a great time when his master is away at work.

Additional Features

  • Author and illustrator interviews
  • Read-Along Function
