Day Trip to Little Rock, Arkansas

March 28, 2013 By LaVonne

Spread the love

Little Rock

Since we are only about 2 hours from Little Rock, Arkansas, we decided to make a day trip road trip. We had grand plans to do and see much more than we accomplished but we still had fun.

Life is a lot more difficult and takes a lot more time when you have two kids!

Here is what we planned to do:

  • Museum of Discovery
  • Bill Clinton Presidential Library
  • Little Rock Central High School
  • Little Rock Zoo

Here is what we were able to do:

Museum of Discovery

This was a must on our list. We had to do it with a 5 year old. Plus, it is right at the River Market and just a couple blocks away from the Bill Clinton Presidential Library.

This was such a fun museum even for us big kids. We loved learning about energy, the human body, and so much more. Not a large children’s museum, but it has so much great educational information.

Bill Clinton Presidential Library

This was a must see on my husband’s list. I had never been to a presidential library before and honestly expected it to be a big library of books. But nope. It was a museum of all President Bill Clinton. And you know what? I really enjoyed it. So much information and things to see. Plus, a video. If we didn’t have two young kids we could have stayed longer and enjoyed reading all the exhibits.

Witt Stephens Jr. Central Arkansas Nature Center

We went to this Nature Center because it was right in between the museum and library. Plus, it was free. And of course, I didn’t take any photos. I think since it was getting close to dinner, I must have been grumpy and not in a picture taking mood? Not sure…

There were fish to see, animals that we stuffed, and coloring activity sheets. We were there for about 30 minutes only but it was free and educational!

Those are the only 3 places we went! It was almost dinner and we had a date with the local Whole Foods (otherwise known as Whole Paycheck). I LOVE Whole Foods and that actually was on my must go to place. After dropping an exorbitant amount of money we drove home to both kids falling asleep and my husband and I visiting and getting to control the radio. Whoo Hooo!

It was a great day trip. I wish we had stayed the night so we could have finished all the sites we wanted to see.

Next time…
