Vegetarian Meatballs Recipe

vegetarian meatballs

Making vegetarian meatballs is so easy. This last week, I pulled out my recipe book and decided to make something fun with my Princess. It is so easy to get stuck in a food rut. So making new foods and getting my Princess to help in the kitchen {which she loves to do} is a fun family time.

Vegetarian meatballs is quick and simple. My 4 year old did most of it. I measured the ingredients and she poured and mixed.

Rolling the gooey mixture is fun even for mommy. I had to help my Princess with the first couple, but she got the hang of it pretty quickly. Then it was a race for who could roll the most!

Place them on a sheet pan and stick ’em in the oven for 30 minutes.

They come out yummy and hot and ready to serve with gravy over rice, in spaghetti, or simply to dip in to your favorite sauce. My daughter ate them with ketchup, and my husband ate them with BBQ sauce.

Ingredients

  • 1 C nuts, ground (I used walnuts. Pecans are also good.)
  • 1 C bread crumbs
  • 1 C grated cheese
  • 1 C cracker crumbs
  • 1 t sage
  • 1 t salt
  • 1 T soy sauce
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 onion, chopped (or 1 t onion powder)

Instructions

  1. Mix all ingredients
  2. Make into balls
  3. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes

I want to give a big thank you to Mrs. Blythe for giving us this recipe four years ago. My husband loved it when she cooked it so she gave us the recipe. We still love it, Mrs. Blythe.

Place in 9×13, cover with tomato sauce, bbq sauce and orange marmalade in equal amounts, or chili sauce and grape jam in equal amounts. Yummy!

I’m not a big fan of meat meatballs. Maybe these would be better. They look good anyway.
