We are all impatiently waiting to find out the gender of this baby. {I think about it constantly.} When we fly home from New Orleans next week, we have our ultrasound appointment and we are hopeful that we will find out the gender.
My Princess has decided that she wants a brother. She told me husband,
“I want a boy. If we have a girl you might love her and play with her more.”
She really does amaze me with the depth of the things she thinks about.
{The hubster is certain that she will always be her favorite.}
I actually would like a boy too. I have Β always wanted to have one child of each gender. Since we are only having two children, it would be nice to have a boy and a girl.
Now that I am at 22 weeks, my belly has grown and my Princess told me,
“Mommy, your tummy sticks out as far as your b0o-boos (her word for breasts)!”
Yes, thank you for pointing that one out. I sure appreciate her candid honesty. She also told me,
“The baby is making your butt big.”
Thanks for that one too, Princess!

Any guesses based off old wives tales?

Well, this pregnancy has been much different than my first (terrible morning sickness, extreme fatigue, excessive heartburn, etc…). So many people are saying, “Oh, it’s a boy.” I am hoping they are correct.

The honesty of children is always so sweet and humbling at the same time.
Can’t wait to hear what you are having! Something tells me girl but I hope you get that boy you have wanted! It is fun having one of each, but two girls would be super sweet!
Can’t wait π
LaVonne says
Thanks, Amy. I can’t wait either. Thanks for coming by! Enjoy the rest of your week π

When I was pregnant with Josh, Faith said she didn’t want a girl because a girl would play with her Barbie’s!

I am sure Isabella will think the same thing, whether it is a boy or a girl. She is going to have a hard time sharing, I am sure. But it will be good for her. The funny thing is, she is great at sharing food. Toys is another thing entirely.

LOL! My youngest will soon be 13 and I still remember the discussions the older two had about just how big my butt got with her. I used to joke that she spent time back there when she was bored of the front! As for your baby’s gender, I would always tell people that as long as it wasn’t puppies or kittens, I’d be happy either way.
LaVonne says
Erin, I tell people that as long as the baby is healthy, I will take a girl or a boy. But I really am hoping it is a boy. π In less than a week I will find out. {Now hopefully, they won’t be wrong!}

I was really glad that I waited to find out until my daughter was born. The worst part about that was that so many people gave me a hard time about not finding out the sex of the child sooner. According to all the “wife’s tales” and even the “Chinese” whatever it is, I was having a boy. I was so glad I had a girl! Especially since I am now a single mother.
LaVonne says
Ruth, I just cannot be surprised. If it is a boy I want to be prepared. I told my husband, if it is a boy, I am going shopping right away! π I am glad it worked out for you. Thanks for coming by!
