We love good family movies here in our home. We are always looking for movies that we can add to our collection and recommend to our friends and family as well. The 5th Quarter is one of these movies.
The 5th Quarter, debuting on Blu-ray and DVD on August 30, takesa closer look at a family dealing with the shocking and tragic car crash that tooktheir young son’s life. Based on a true story and a recent recipient of theDove Foundation’s “Family-Approved” seal for all audiences over the age of 12,comes this inspiring true story of family, faith and football.
We really enjoy movies that are based on true stories, that are uplifting and combine sports and faith together. In the spirit ofThe Blind Side Aidan Quinn and *Andie MacDowell (see below) deliver emotionally stirring performances as the mother and father of Jon Abbate, a rising football star at Wake Forest University. Their lives are suddenly shattered when the family’s youngest son, Luke, is killed in a tragic accident. Inspired by Luke’s memory, Jon courageously leads the Wake Forest team to a series of last-minute victories — leading to a thrilling climax that will “make you stand up and cheer”.
Doesn’t this movie just sound great? I love these kinds of movies, truly. I am excited to have another family movie in our collection. On August, 30 your family must check this movie out! You will not be sorry.
