Rio will be released on Blu-ray/DVD on August 2 and you do not want to miss this animated movie. It is appealing to kids as well as parents. We received an advanced copy of Rio to review in our home and we were not dissappointed. The animation, colors, culture, story line and even Christian themes of the movie were fabulous.
This really is a classic tale of self-discovery with humor, adventure and love thrown in. This was a movie that my husband and I could enjoy and of course my Princess loved it – A great family movie night pick.
The premise is simple: Blu is a rare bird that has been raised as a pet (he says companion) and he does not even know how to fly. After being flown to Rio de Janeiro, to hopefully mate with the last know bird of his kind, Jewel, they begin a grand adventure together to get away from bird smugglers.
I won’t spoil the movie for you, but on August 2, go out and buy this movie. It will be a classic that will be watched over and over.
