Did I realize before I had a child how busy life would be?
No
Did anyone sit down and tell me, “This is what life will now be like…”?
No
So in the last three years of being a mommy, I have found one way – one tip – that makes my life easier. One way I take a little time for my self each day. Maybe you do it too. But if not, I highly recommend it:
{In fact, I am writing this post while my Princess is sleeping!}
Some days I will do dishes or clean during her nap time, but most days I don’t. And that is okay. I have learned that not every dish has to be cleared out of the sink at each meal. If we are not expecting company, I can do those dishes later, with my Princess’ help even. I can sweep and vacuum when she wakes up, and she loves to help me do those things. I have a small window of me time, and I take advantage of it.
Now that I limit her naps to 30-45 minutes a day, my time goes by quickly. But in that time I check email, write blog posts, read a chapter of a new book, read my daily devotional for women, do crafts, or take photographs. I love this small window of time in my day. It is a small refresher, a much needed break, a nice refresher time.
My day is filled with my Princess. (I can’t imagine having more than one right now.) She gets devotional and breakfast time, school time, PBS cartoon time, shower time, clean up time, lunch time, nap time, craft time, library time, play time, dinner time, daddy time, and bedtime. So, getting that 30 minutes of Me Time is priceless.
What do you do to get that personal time just for yourself?
