March 2010 |
We had such beautiful weather on our drive to Northern California on Wednesday. Seeing the ocean waves, sunshine, and blue skies out my van window just made me happy.
Unfortunately, all three of us have been battling a cold this week. So there were some UN-fun times as well during our 11 hour drive. But we survived. Thank you to the person who invented portable DVD players.
We left at 4am, and my wonderful husband drove the entire way. I could barely stay awake for the first four hours and was miserably tired the rest of the way. But seeing that sunshine, well, it just felt great. I even got warm in the sun. It does not even feel like winter here.
We made a stop at prayer meeting with a church we worked with last year. How great, how uplifting is it when you see people who were baptized from your efforts still attending church with a vibrant Christian life? It felt good. We felt very loved.
This is why we do it. For the people. But the great thing is, in helping others meet Christ, it really helps us stay connected to Him. It is a win-win situation.
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 19, 20
