I don’t know what has gotten into my sweet little Princess but she is starting to be a bully. She is tall for her age and she is pretty tough. She doesn’t cry too often and seems to exhibit no fear. Lately, she has been picking on other kids and we are not sure why. Either she will bug them mercilessly, take their toys, get in their face, and yell “no” at them. Luckily, she has not resorted to hitting and pushing. I try to keep her in line and always make her say “sorry” and give hugs. Many times after “fighting” with them she will hug them until they fall down.
We had a family party today and she stole two different toys from two different kids. (These were their birthday present toys.) One began to cry (hard) and the other was ready to fight for his truck back. Both kids were older than her too. Maybe next birthday party I will have to “wrap” one of her toys to open and play with.
What do you do when your child is the bully? I am trying to be calm and patient and apologetic to the other parents. Man, raising kids is complicated!
