Here are 10 reasons why she is a big girl now:
1. Well it has been four full days since my Princess has breastfed. I am impressed to say the least. I thought I might cave in a couple times. Especially now that she says, “Please momma, Please?” over and over. It is difficult to resist. But I did. It is as much a victory for me as it is her. She has not cried like the first night. She asks a few times per day but after I say no, she moves on quickly.
2. The last few mornings she has gone pee pee in the her potty as well. Today she got Tinkerbell underwear. She peed in them but right away she said “pee” and quit peeing. I am sure it did not feel good on her legs. We ran to the bathroom, pulled down the pants and underwear and she continued going in the potty.
3. Then, tonight she was being very quiet. My husband went into the bathroom looking for her. She was hurriedly pulling her pants and diaper off, trying her hardest to make it to the potty before she peed. She didn’t quite make it but for the effort we gave her a piece of gum anyway. Gum, as you now know, is her incentive for going potty in the potty chair.
4. I really hadn’t blogged about her gum chewing ability yet. For just turning two she is amazing with her gum chewing. Her record was 2 hours of chewing. After two hours, like a good girl, she handed me the gum and I threw it away. Twice I found gum in the carpet but after a serious talk with her I have not found it on the floor again.
5. Number five is related to my Princess’ ability to peel her own mandarin oranges. Yep, she peels those little cuties at least twice a day. We are always stocked with them, since she and I both love them.
6. Today it rained outside. Not too difficult to imagine for the Pacific Northwest. Plus, it was a Monday which always seems like a lazy day. So we watched some movies. Enchanted and The Chipmunks. These are different from the animated ones that we usually watch. But my Princess is getting so big she was able to watch most of both. (Not all, but most.)
7. She is now picking out her clothes, shoes, and coats. Putting them all on by herself is sometimes difficult. She gets frustrated and I realize that some of my impatience is rubbing off on her. {I need to work on that one.}
8. During prayer time now, she HAS to pray every time for: Nana, Papa, Auntie, WeeWee (great auntie), Greats (Great Grandpa), Momma, Dadda and Bella. It was cute until we realized we HAVE to do it each time we pray.
9. Today for the first time, she asked to nap in her own bed. We share a family bed so when she insisted on “other bed” for nap time, I was surprised. I have not made her sleep in her castle bed yet but have made it seem like a fun place. So today for almost an hour she slept there.
10. And did I mention, I am not breastfeeding her anymore? What is 24 x 4? 96 hours! So sleep has been more difficult but we are succeeding! No more Milkies!!!!! Amazing.
Aren’t you all so amazed at how grown up she is?
My big question to all you veteran mothers is: Will her childhood always go by this fast? It is starting to scare me how fast it is going by…
