So it was one of those days yesterday, you know the kind – where everything seems to go wrong. We arrived home in the evening, knowing our propane tanks were getting low, we decided to check them. Sure enough, much to our dismay, we were at 2 percent on one tank and 10 percent on another. My amazingly wonderful husband called the propane company on Monday, since we knew it was getting low, and we found out that they serviced our area on Fridays only. Hoping to make it until Friday, we were very upset when we realized we couldn’t stay at our house last night or tonight. We would run out of heat. We didn’t know the propane would go so fast. We didn’t realize we should have called the propane company sooner. Trying to be angry at “the company” didn’t work for too long. We realized we were angry with ourselves. Thankfully, we no longer live in a state without family. My parents are only 5 minutes away. With a spare bedroom and a warm wood stove heated house, we had a place to stay. It was then I realized how truly blessed we are. We have a home, set at a cool 45 degrees so we don’t run out of propane. We have a family. We have money to pay for propane tomorrow. Others are not always so lucky. At this time of year I am reminded that it is all about Jesus, being thankful for his blessings, and living for Him. Though we were not ready for the propane to be out, I truly want to be ready for Him.
