We took a family trip over a long weekend last week. The Princess had her first seat on an airplane. Before this she had always sat on my lap. Grandpa and Grandma (a.ka. Papa and Nana) also rode in our same row. Praise God, there was an extra seat next to them as well. For the first time in two years of flying many flights with my beloved daughter, I was able to relax and read a book. Whoo hoo!!!
We went to California for my husband’s annual worker’s meeting. I got sick and missed the fabulous employee Christmas dinner. (Of course.) I am still battling a scratchy throat and cough. We also went down there for an ordination service. My husband’s. Yep, that’s right. I am now a “pastor’s wife”. My prince charming was ordained as a minister on Saturday December 12 at 2:30 in the afternoon. Now if you would have told me that I would be a pastor’s wife ten years ago, I would have laughed. No way! It is almost surreal and quite humbling. Continue to pray for me. I do not feel like a “pastor’s wife”…
On the flight back home on Sunday, the Princess had eternal energy, which is not unusual. Luckily for me, we had Papa on board. He let her run and play almost the entire flight. Our fellow passengers were quite entertained watching her run from aisle 1 to aisle 18, randomly saying hello to people as she did so. Oh, and yes she was put into the overhead compartment once by the flight attendant and Papa. She waved goodbye, happily, as they shut the door. Click.
So yep, it is Gratituesday again. I am very grateful for my parents who help with the Princess tremendously. I am also thankful for a godly husband who loves me even when I know I don’t deserve such love. But most importantly I am grateful this week especially to God. He has brought me so far in 10 years. It is unbelievable. I cannot wait to see what He has in store for our little family in the next 10 years.
