So, from the start I have been grossed out by poop on fingers or on any other place besides the diaper or toilet. I think my attitude has rubbed off on the Princess. The only time she pooped in the bath tub water (after the newborn stage) was probably around 8 months old. She freaked out. Cried hard. She hates poop. So last week when she stuck her finger in the back of her diaper and got poop on her finger she DID NOT like it. So of course, she ran to me and tried to wipe it on me. (Lovely, how children do that, isn’t it?) I proceeded to grab her wrist and run her into the bathroom to wash it off. Gross! (I know, I know, a little poop on the finger is nothing.)
Now the lesson for me: If only I saw “little” sins as despicable as poop. I’d like to teach my Princess that sin (no matter if we think it is big or small) is gross to Jesus. Something we don’t want to mess with. So today I want to remember that impatience, anger, judgment, white lies, and gossip are all quite disgusting and God doesn’t want even a small amount on me. That sounds like a great thing to learn and teach, if you ask me.
