Well, I am at my wits end. (I feel like an old person when I use that statement.) Isabella just does not listen not matter what I do. So today after telling her no about a million times with no results, I put her in a timeout.
We have a playpen that she has never used as a playpen or anything resembling play or sleep for that matter. She hates being put into it in fact. So she had a timeout in the playpen. She cried like I had done the absolute worst thing ever. I let her stay in there for about 3 minutes. When I took her out I tried to explain as best I could to a 15 month old that when mommy says no she needs to listen. I don’t know if it will work. But, when she tried to misbehave again I just said, “Do you need a timeout? Do you want to go to your playpen?”
She stopped in her tracks.
She knew mommy meant business.
