In honor of Things I Love Thursday – I wanted to share things that each of us truly love this week.
She Loves Black Beans!
Isabella loves black beans. She never gets tired of them. Yesterday, we ate a spicy dish, Enchilada Bake, so I heated up some whole wheat noodles with black beans and a little Tofutti Sour Cream. She also loves sour cream. She will eat the sour cream before anything else. I bought a few cans of organic black beans at the local Grocery Outlet, which leads int what I love this week.
Mommy loves the The Grocery Outlet. Do you have this store near you? It is wonderful. I always find fun things: health food, treats, drinks, and DEALS. For example, I bought soy yogurt for .50 each in strawberry and peach. Normally they are at least .99 if not more.
Daddy loves the new book I bought him at our local Family Christian Book Store, called Surviving Financial Meltdown. It was only $5 which is a great deal for a new book. He loves anything to do with finances especially if it is from a Christian perspective.
What are you loving this week?
the black bean dish sounds great! 🙂 i’ll have to try it. and i love our $5 Christian bookstores! 🙂
i’ll have to try the black bean dish 🙂
I’ll have to check out that book.
Sometimes the only thing my toddler will eat is black beans and cheerios, so I put them in everything.
Great idea to post about the things EACH of your family loves.
I *wish* my kids would like black beans! Actually, I just recently started liking them myself.
We have a Grocery Outlet that’s not too far down the road, but I have yet to go try it out. Maybe I should…
Oo, I’m so trying this black bean recipe some time. Yum! And why not eat the sour cream first? I have that habit with nachos. LOL
The book sounds interesting – I’ll have to add it to my library list. (That’s a pretty long list. heehee But I keep circulation up.)
Something tells me I don’t have Grocery Outlet here. *wink* We did have them where we were in CA though. I normally shopped the commissary – it was within walking distance when gas was $4.50 a gallon and I drove an Expedition lol – but their flyers looked like they had some great deals. I just wasn’t willing to sit in Monterey traffic to get there.
As for your comment on the foodie post – glad you liked it! Right now the Yen is 101Y=$1US. It has finally climbed back up. When we got here in October it was ranging from 105Y to 101Y to the dollar – which is good for us Americans as our dollars exchanged well to Yen. I usually figured 100Y=$1 and got change back. But then when this financial fiasco really started to make the news the rate dropped and dropped – we hit about 80Yen to the dollar, which meant it was costing us about $1.20 to buy 100Yen. Needless to say, then the local off-base economy suffers because the military folk stop shopping off base so much because the prices didn’t change, but the Yen costs more to get.
