Yesterday afternoon and this afternoon Isabella did something that I never taught her. Yesterday, she grabbed her diaper rash creme and handed it to me. Then she made a kissy face, puckering her lips very dramatically, VERY CUTE. So I gave her a kiss. She then proceeded to sign “more”, which means “Open this mommy”. I hugged her but said no.
Then today she brought me a lifesaver, that was wrapped in its own plastic. She did the same thing. Somehow she has learned that maybe if “I butter mommy up with a kiss, she will give me what I want”. Don’t ask me how she learned this, she is only 14 months old. It melted my heart though. I still said NO.

It’s amazing how fast they learn how to wrap us around their little fingers, isn’t it? Or at least TRY to. heh heh
I wanted to thank you for your comment on my post today. I, too, find it much easier to go exploring with my husband. I much prefer to be the navigator, especially here in Japan where there aren’t a lot of street signs – people use landmarks to give directions, and it’s a lot harder to drive AND navigate that way! My hubby deployed 2 weeks ago though, so I have to get brave and start “getting to it” myself, whether I like it or not. It so helps to have the little guy along though as he loves to look around and also laughs when I laugh at myself or other drivers. ๐
I’ll be praying for your friend Wes. My hubby’s best friend had testicular cancer as a child and his wife had breast cancer – they just welcomed their first baby to the world so all is not lost. I love the story about his students praying and singing for him. That is LOVELY.
