Tyler and I met in 1997 and were friends for 1 year before we started dating. Tyler was in the Navy stationed in Washington state where I was living and going to community college. I was raised as a Seventh-day Adventist christian and he was raised as a Four Square christian. Both of us at the time were not walking in a relationship with God. We believed, but were not living it. In the spring of 1998, we started dating and by the end of the year things began to get serious. Talking about marriage, we both realized that we needed God to be the center, if things were going to work. God and church became a priority and once we were married Tyler began to feel a call to work in ministry for Jesus. Once Tyler was honorably discharged from the US Navy in 2000, he attended the Amazing Facts Center of Evangelism.
Our lives changed forever. I worked in Pathology at that time in the field of Histology as a Histology Technician and Tyler worked for God. He gave Bible studies to those in the community who were interested in knowing about God as well as training church members how to reach others for the Lord. Though life in the ministry was difficult, we made decisions to put God first. For 3 years we traveled all over the country offering seminars on the Bible. We were able to visit so many states, see wonderful sites, and meet God’s people in all different faiths and walks of life. We grew in our Christian walk and our ability to relate to so many people.
In 2006 we settled down in Northern California. Tyler took a call to teach evangelism at the same school he had graduated from in 2000. He became the assistant director of the program and taught accredited classes on the Bible and Evangelism. In 2007 we had our daughter. My new job title is homemaker, mommy, wife, child of God and as I am learning about parenting I am also learning more about God. I was hired by Amazing Facts part time to be my husband’s secretary! Yep, it is true. Crazy! 😉
We recently decided to go back on the road and work with churches, training and teaching. Our home base is now in Washington. (We bought our first home!) As we travel for the Lord, we are having fun and gaining so many blessings.
“Going through the motions doesn’t please you, a flawless performance is nothing to you. I learned God-worship when my pride was shattered. Heart-shattered lives ready for love don’t for a moment escape God’s notice.” Psalm 51: 16, 17 The Message
