We are in Death Valley. I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for in our family. Wednesday we rented a car and drove from Tyler’s mom’s house out to Death Valley to stay at the Furnace Creek Inn for the Thanksgiving holiday. Tyler’s dad has been coming out here for the last nine years and invited us to come along this time. Tyler’s sister and her family also came out. We rented the fourth floor, which is the same floor Laura Bush stayed on when she was here. (Tyler could not wait to say he went to the bathroom on the same toliet as our first lady!) We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner at the restaurant here. It was the first time we ate out on this holiday, and the first time in a long time we did not have Tofurky roast. (Which we will have on Christmas.) The hotel and surrounding areas are quite beautiful. We are in the desert a few hours from Las Vegas. There are beautiful rocks surrounding us and many warm springs. Our pool is a spring fed pool which has an average temp of 82 degrees. We have spent quite a lot of time there of course. Isabella loves the water. There are also a lot of places to climb around, and that is currently Isabella’s favorite thing to do. We can easily wear her out here, so that her naps and sleep are getting better. Tyler went golfing yesterday at the lowest Golf course in the world – 214 feet below sea level. He did quite well too. Today is Sabbath and we driving around to view the local scenery – the badlads, artist’s palette, and the devil’s golf course (not an actual golf course). Tomorrow we leave, and on the way out we will stop in Victorville to visit my aunt. Her and her husband are being baptized today in the Seventh-day Adventist church there in Victorville. We are excited. Like I said we have much to be thankful for this holiday season.
